Oh - don't get me wrong - I agree completely that it was the correct decision. I had the cricket muted so I could listen to the House of Commons so didn't realise it was only one over remaining in the days play. Wasn't really expecting to look down and see it on my iPad.

Somerset certainly has a lot to answer for at the moment.

Leach was saying how he’s replaced Trescothick. Combined with the ‘caught Buttler bowled Leach’ adorable shenanigans, and I think he might be fast becoming one of my favourite cricketers.

Leach batting will be a thing of fleeting ephemeral beauty.

Get in!

He's on a roll, last two times he's crossed 50 in tests he's converted.

Well played Joe Root! Could still do with another 60-70 to make this test safe.

An early call for Foakes to make a century when he's currently on 28* I hope so!

I dunno, this pitch doesn't really look as bad as most thought it would late on the third day. I could see SL successfully chasing 300 perhaps around 30% of the time.

If he’s going to be a really successful England player, he needs to be able to fend off the slings and arrows of outrageous jinxes.

This is one area (of plenty) that England desperately need to do better with, both in the field and with the bat. Root was at the crease with both Stokes AND Burns, both were plum. He needs to be harsher.
