Nostradamus, or a Durham fan who followed last season? You be the judge.

Middlesex have moved themselves close to safety having been asked to follow on at Wantage Road.

Captain Dawid Malan has produced a brilliant 149 not out to keep Northants at bay, the majority scored in front of Ed Smith.

Just brilliant.

Root 103*. :msgreen:

Ballance nearing a century too. :dread:

Re. Dawid, at least England's 4-7 is bloody hard to break into.

If we end up with Gary strawberry floating Ballance at 3 for The Ashes...

Certainly is! Looks like a good batting morning, Durham might only be 6 down by lunch.

Literally every England hopeful getting out. Burns, Robson, Clarke, Duckett, Slater. At this rate Lyth might put his name back into the running. Stoneman and Gubbins have passed 40.

Still Hameed, Vince, Pope, Jennings, ( :dread: ), Ballance ( :dread: :dread: :dread: :dread: :dread: :dread: ) to come.

Edit: Pope and Stoneman gone too. So that leaves Lyth (61), Ballance (32) and Gubbins (43) at the time of writing.

The silver lining is that it bring JE Root to the crease.

We’ll see Gubbins opening in Tests this year or next, I am pretty sure. His average of 35 obviously qualifies him for it.

Sigh.

I think Bancroft's slow grind style of play could possibly come back to haunt Durham here.

That and everything else about how Durham bat. I mean he’s still the top scorer. :dread:

Was that getting him out?

Ashes top three: Burns, Mitchell, Ballance. ;)

Something tells me that Ben Stokes isn't the death bowler you're looking for.

Oh hang on, here we go! The moment where Hope, just for a moment, raises her beautiful head... before her submarine slowly sinks before the waves.

Hang on, do we have a little Sussex collective here? Drumstick, Mini... which county do you support Rex?

Anyway, it’s Durham. Pretty sure you won’t have much cause to worry.

I follow the Notts scores as they're my local county but I wouldn't consider myself a supporter. Unless they win something and then I'm all 'Wooh Notts' (not really).
