You should all definitely watch this very short clip of Kohli yesterday (in relation to the Ashwin/Buttler mankad): https://www.iplt20.com/video/173848/man ... says-virat

Stop trying to make me like the chap Drumstick, I already hate that he's a massive advocate for Test cricket. :x

Looks like Alex Hales is determined to piss his career up the wall. :(

Looks that way :(

Also: Apologies for spamming the thread, cricket chaps. I'm running (probably not actually running) the London Marathon on Sunday (on my birthday and on one working knee) to raise money for the charity supporting people with the condition that will make me go blind in the next couple of decades. If anyone could spare a pound or two, I'd be incredibly grateful.

Alex Hales has been withdrawn from all England squads ahead of the international season.

The decision has been taken by the ECB Managing Director of England Men’s Cricket and the England National Cricket Selectors, having considered what is in the best interests of the England team. Consideration was given to creating the right environment within the team and ensuring that there are no unnecessary distractions and that the team is in the best position to succeed going into this crucial period.

The Nottinghamshire batsman will not travel to Ireland for a one-off ODI on Friday in Malahide and has also been removed from England’s squad for the Vitality IT20, the Royal London ODI series against Pakistan and the preliminary ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup squad.

Commenting on the decision, Ashley Giles, ECB Managing Director of England Men’s Cricket, said:

“We have thought long and hard about this decision. We have worked hard to create the right environment around the England team and need to consider what is in the best interests of the team, to ensure they are free from any distractions and able to focus on being successful on the pitch.

“I want to make it clear this is not the end of Alex’s career as an England player. The ECB and the PCA will continue to aid Alex and work alongside his county club Nottinghamshire to give him the support he needs, to help him fulfil his potential as a professional cricketer.”

England will name a replacement for the Royal London ODI series against Pakistan, in due course.

It's a shame for him but the Bristol fracas should have been a wake-up call. Looks like that 190 from Vince won't go in vain.

Yep, Vince has been called up as his replacement.

Fantastic advert for not doing drugs. Kids, don't do drugs otherwise your countries ODI team will get strawberry floated over.

Ashley Giles blaming The Guardian for the ECB's piss-poor policies and the ECBs poor management of said policies.

What I’ve read suggests more nuance than that. Essentially Giles was bound by confidentiality suggested by his lawyers, and so the players (and selectors) didn’t know until the Guardian story. Then the players basically decided they’d had it up to here with Alex and he got booted out.

Don’t get me wrong, I have no love for the ECB; but when George Dobell is willing to cut them some slack, I feel like I should be too.

They shouldn't be put or put themselves into a position where something like this is hidden from the team.

I have no doubt that they would have much preferred to sweep this under the rug and allow Hales to return to the squad as if it never happened.

Ireland time. England pissing this, thus pumping up the hubris machine, then going from 2-0 to 2-3 against Pakistan, would be peak England World Cup preparation in my opinion.

"Good morning all. Is the Hales content really nutritious? Seems like most of what he's been doing is distinctly bad for you and your career." File it all under Cautionary Tale...

England don’t deserve Foakes. Maybe he could play for South Africa.

Decent start until the rain came, thankfully It's only expected to be a passing shower.
