England are still ahead on the bookies’ odds! Might be time to put a cheeky flutter on Sri Lanka, if any of you are into that sort of thing...

Also worth pointing out that when India toured SL last year they made 600+ twice and 487.

I think we can safely say that England are less good at batting in subcontinental conditions than India. And possibly without the qualifier too.

Anyway it seems to be doing a bit, and Sri Lanka don’t have the most together line-up themselves. Finely poised?

Lower-order fightbacks seem to be the order of the day this Test...

That looks like the sum of things. Bring on Sam Curran to bowl some cutters?

I watched Jacob Rees-Mogg basically tell Theresa May that he was going to put in a vote of no confidence about her in the House of Commons on one work screen, I looked down to my iPad to see Leach walk out to open the batting.

World's gone bloody mad. I have a friend who works at Somerset who says Leach really rates his own batting so he'll want to prove a point here!

The point they mentioned on the cricket social was if he's have got out then play was done. He wasn't going to take a run and he can hold a bat so might get a few in the morning. One of England's more tactically astute decisions in recent times in my mind.
