What a surprise, a bunch of rfms being unable to bowl out the tail.

It's supremely annoying that it seems they are going to squirm above 200, possible to 225 or beyond after being 35-3 and 122-8.

Again, like I said earlier, feels like those few millimetres with Smith were key. Just can't get him out, which has allowed their score to creep higher. Siddle sounds like he's more than played a part though.

Oh boy, here comes Jocular Joe Denly with his leg-spin.

I want Root and Denly bowling in tandem.

Really unhappy with today. Root's captaincy shown up, simply unable to effectively isolate Siddle and Lyon.

Would have helped if he’d had some old-ball bowlers to utilise. The injury to Anderson can’t have helped. That said, it was still lousy.

Do I want to follow a depressing collapse today?

We need to bat all day today and some of tomorrow. Smith's innings was superb but the gooseberry fool show from the rest of the batters should mean England can still win this but we need to bat sensibly.

Smith's average at the end of this series is going to be insane, nobody has a plan to get him out.

Still feels like a collapse is just around the corner sadly. Burns does seem to be pushing on.
