Yeah I read that a week or so ago. I maintain he hasn't been the same since the Ashes down under.

Since the start of the 2 test Pakistan series last year, Bairstow averages 23 in 22 innings. Drop him for Foakes and tell YJB to go and re-learn red-ball cricket.

I don’t have the statistics to hand, but at home Moeen’s average with the red ball is pretty damn good. He does look short of confidence at the moment, but he hasn’t been getting a ‘free ride’, although he’s obviously not an all-rounder any more.

Bairstow... yeeeeeees...

Why are the England coaching staff saying players should play their normal game today? Have they not seen the shots some of those players choose?

Not sure it really matters how most of them try to play to be honest. I give them until midway through the second session.

Rats. I was hoping Rory would be the backbone of this innings.

Add Denly to the list of players to boot out for the next test.

I hear that Ed Smith really liked that review though.

The scene is set for Moeen to top edge a totally un-necessary slog sweep, third ball.

Okay I was a little off but still.

Leach in for Moe. Foakes in for Jonny. Archer in for somebody. Find room for Curran, at four if you must. I’d get rid of Roy if that wasn’t too many changes already.

I think Archer comes in for Jimmy and I'd definitely be swapping Leach and Foakes in. I just don't see how you can get Curran in without dropping Broad or Woakes and that's not likely just yet.

Woakes averages 9 with the ball at Lords, so he's not going anywhere.

Mo can leave the team IMO and not come back for a while. He's shot at the moment. Leach in.

I'd like to see Foakes in for JB. Buttler keeps his place.

Presumably Anderson injured, so Archer or Curran in. Presumably it'll be Archer.
