Aaaaaaaaargh. Joe’s too good a batsman to be playing at 3 in England.

Jesus Christ, Denly looks hopeless and Root is just so out of form.

Just give someone else the damn captaincy and let him bat 4.

Now it’s the lunch interval, I feel I can say: Burns is looking good.

Denly is not but he’s still there.

Please just stop playing short balls. Just duck them, FFS.

At least Australia are assisting us a little by giving us all these extras and completely wasting their reviews.

The second review which was just now is one of the worst reviews I've seen in test cricket. The ball was missing 4th stump, let alone off stump.

This feels like a very England innings. Shame there’s no Sam Curran to score a quick fifty.

Another 92 here from Leach would be useful. Odds of him doing it against bowlers bowling ~10mph faster than Ireland and with more accuracy? #Believe

What do we expect today then? Weather looks somewhat grim, on the plus side, Woakes will be very eager to get hold of the ball and get another entry on the honours board.

Yeah I think you've nailed that. :( In reality, I think we'll face a deficit of 100-150.

It's a plus for sure to be clear, but I'd also like to see some cricket played.

Rain shouldn't start until after lunch, not in anger; and England have to have removed Smith by then to have any chance in this Test. I think this works out quite nicely for the hosts.
