England are going to need to set very attacking fields which are liable to leak runs, hence why Root has looked for an almost 4.00 RRR advantage.

Edit: Ben Stokes's average, in this match alone, has gone from 36.68 to 38.58. :datass:

And including Broad, the gods must definitely be shining on us today.

Stokes chasing back off his own bowling to the mid off boundary, then getting the breakthrough  What a man.

The tail put up less resistance than expected! Wonderful stuff. Decider time.

Which England will we get in the decider then? Great win to pull it back so let's hope they finish the job properly now!

Leach should come in because his left-arm off-spin will be more effective against WIs litany of right-arm batsmen.

Archer, by virtue of outperforming Wood in Southampton, will come in.

Jimmy is coming back because he's our best bowler.

Broad will keep his spot by virtue of being the best of the seamers in Manchester.

Buttler will keep his spot.

The absolute state of today. :dread:

WI: Cornwall for Joseph. Fair enough, except Gabriel looks like he’s made of wood.

England: Burns Sibley Root Stokes Pope Buttler Woakes Bess Archer Broad Anderson

To a certain extent I get that Stokes can’t bowl and that means a shuffle, but... strewth!

Not a fan of everyone moving up one. It's flawed Bayliss thinking.

Root could have had a twirl if he wanted spin.

And so it begins.

Also - I'm loving that Cornwall is playing. What a man. I hope he gets the opportunity to absolutely run through the England batting order. Based on this first over, he may not get the chance.
