Ask GR: How many copies of GTA V do you own?

Following the news that Grand Theft Auto V was the third best-selling game in the UK during 2020 - seven years on from it's initial launch in 2013 - I wondered how many copies do GRcadians own and if they're eager to experience the game again on the new consoles.

Perhaps you could add an anecdote about how your dog owns two copies, as well? Maybe you buy a new copy every year as a part of a celebratory event? Let us know!

Got it on 360 and PS4. Might get it on PS5 if its 60fps.

Four copies. As with all GTA games, I've barely done any missions; it's very much a "drive up a hill whilst listening to the radio" game for me :-).

None, I’ve played it but never owned it and no real intention to ever buy myself a copy either. It’s not a bad game at all from what I played but not exactly my thing, last GTA I really enjoyed was San Andreas. Even if it came to the Switch (very unlikely given the length of time they could have ported it over in) I probably still wouldn’t get it.

Just the PS4 version for me, I did have the PS3 version years ago but never played it much and traded it in when the PS4 version was announced. Won’t buy the PS5 one as I would ever play through it all again but it was a good game.

Not a fan so zero here.

I have two copies - Xbox 360 and PS4.

Haven't finished it on either. I like the gameplay experience and enjoy being in that world, but I really dislike the characters and don't like being in their company for too long. (I guess Franklin is okay). I have no interest in the online mode either.

I think I have it about 3 times once on xbox 360 which was gotten properly and then a few second hand charity shop purchases of it for like 1quid each, one on PS3 and a second Xbox 360 one if memory serves.

PS3 and PS4. I've played a good few hundred hours of the online across both versions so I got my money's worth for sure.

Now I live with my girlfriend we have 4 copies between us as she also got it on PS3 and PS4.

I'd be interested in playing it on Switch so I voted for it, but if it ever did get ported (which seems very unlikely) I don't think it'd ever drop to a price I'd actually consider it!

0, GTA4 was a big let down so that combined with going off R* more and more as a developer just made it easy to ignore.

I do think it might have been given away free on some service at some point so I may actually have access to it now

I own the PS4 version digitally though I’ve never played it! Now waiting for the PS5 upgrade (and I’m hoping it’s an upgrade) before playing it again.

I previously owned the prior gen version and got through around 60% of it but I now can’t remember if it was on Xbox 360 or PS3. Probably Xbox.

Bought on ps3, got for free on pc.

I brought it on PS3 then when i got round to getting a PS4 i picked it up then completed it on both consoles not played it in over 2 years. I doubt if and when i do get a PS5 i wont be getting it again as i don't care or have no interest in GTA online. Which has kinda killed my interest with Rockstar now. The fact story DLC got ignored and it went too GTA online pissed me off.

Zero, haven't played a GTA game since IV, which I didn't get on with.

Bought it summer of 2015 on Steam, and then almost half a year later on the Microsoft Store for the One as it was around the point I was dropping out of PC gaming (yet still didn't stop the massive thousand hours I'd spend on the PC version, at the cost of every other game). Depending on the changes made to the Series version, I'll be getting it - though there's every possibility it ends up being a free upgrade anyway (for digital owners).

PC (Steam), PC (Epic Game Store), Xbox 360 (physical), Xbox One (digital).

I bought it on release on 360. Then I bought the PC version but it was a bit of a drain on the system so I didn't play it for long.

Wife bought it for herself on PS4 but I never played that version.

I doubt I'd buy a PS5 update as I've completely lost interest in Rockstar after RDR2.
