Nearly 80 hours in and the map still looks littered with sidequests. Only 100% cleared 4 of the England sections and 1 nearly done but need to be level 300+ to beat it.

If I remember right I think once I got to mid 200s in level pretty much everything was beatable, even if they were in the 300s, because of all the skills/perks you have.

I did really like the skill tree in this, even if some of the abilities I think would have been better unlocked from the start

It’s really too long for its own good, like with BoTW I actually love the openness of the game but in almost the complete opposite to that, Valhalla almost makes you feel like you have to tick off all the boxes in each area to get the most out of it, whereas in BoTW I found it fun to just explore for the sake of it, in the end I treated Valhalla in a similar way, explored the world and did a few side quests but mainly focused on the main quest, even doing this I was still around 100 hours by the time I saw the credits.

Do you have to clear the map to get platinum

One thing that pisses me off with this game is the dodge inconsistency. Sometime you shimmy sometimes you roll. Sometimes you roll away sometimes towards. More shown when fighting witches, the amount of time ive reviled my back for an instant kill when i when to dodge away and the game decides a roll towards which isnt what i wanted.

Nicely done! I thought you could probably do it :)

Can't remember any particular problems with the dodge, although weapon wise I rarely changed from a round shield and one handed axe for that viking roleplay and maybe equipment makes quite a difference.

I think I used that combo till I got the perk where I could wield 2 handed weapons in 1 hand, then I used Odin’s spear (once I’d found it) and the raven clan shield which worked pretty well from what I remember.

84 hours in now, missing one of those horsemen riding around and halve two more raids to do. England map all open but still littered with side quests. Feel this is still a long way off finishing. I clear each area as I visit in the story.

Fishing trophy looks like it could be a bitch.

Yes, you probably will be aware of this but I wasn’t until OR told me, you only need to collect the treasure that’s visible when you are zoomed out on the map, when I started I was literally collecting everything :fp:

I assumed it wasn’t the smaller gold dots just the treasures and everything that gets a tick for the area

The Assassins's Creed Cycle

I'm enjoying this new Assassin's Creed game, the map is huge!
*10 hours later*
Oh wait I guess that was the tutorial map, the real map is huge!
*20 hours later*
Wait there's another map? Why? I've got other games to play and I'm barely through the main story.
*10 hours later*
Another side map as part of the main story? Why? Why would they do that?
*2 weeks later*
Wait they're adding in two new DLC maps? I haven't seen the sun in so long and I'm only 30% through the main game.
*4 months later*
God I've not played the new Assassin's Creed game in ages, maybe I'll give it a go. Wait Uplay says I've played for 80 hours and it's only 33% complete, that can't be right.
*40 hours of gameplay and another 5% of main game complete*
COMING SOON DAWN OF RAGNAROK DLC!

I’d love for them to return to smaller maps but I think it’s going to be the opposite, where they think bigger is always better :dread:
