Looks like a gooseberry fool Hellblade.

That boss in particular looks almost exactly like one from Senua's Sacrifice, especially the way she teleports about in a flash of light, and the runes that pop up to signal moves.

Meh, looks kind of dull? I was hoping to be all over this considering the Viking setting but I’m kind of going off of it a bit now.

The 'boss fights in a colosseum' trope in videogames is one I would happily see the back of. I think the first time I ever experienced it was probably in the original Tomb Raider and now every third person action adventure and platformer has to have it. Repetitive, drawn out affairs that often show up every single flaw with a game's controls and/or mechanics.

Assassin's Creed bosses, along with the series itself, peaked with fistfighting the pope

AC always struck me as a series that shouldn't have bosses any way. There should be targets and the challenge should be in how you expose them in order to achieve the kill - that might be a tracking challenge in terms of how you locate them and understand their movements, or an environmental challenge such as how to get to where they are, or a stealth challenge around how to get close to them without being discovered - but they should be "normal" people for you to take out, not super powered boss encounters.

Apart from the analmus, I wasn't expecting the game to go silly half way through and feature sci-fi elements.

The Ezio trilogy was definitely the high point, Black Glag was a very good pirate game though.

I managed to make a screengrab of the map before Ubisoft yanked the video. My cartography is probably crap but I've added a few places to the map to give it a sense of scale.

They seem to have taken a few liberties with regard to the scale of the waterways and lakes.

So the only places named on the actual map are West Mercia, East Mercia and East Anglia?

Probably varies based on zoom/scale?

EDIT: or I guess locations might not show up until discovered or otherwise marked on the map?

Yeah I'm not assuming there is nothing else there, I just wanted to know how much info about places in Britain there actually was

It's hard to get hold of accurate and up to date information about Britain these days because there are so many no go areas!

The furthest I've probably got in a Crusader Kings game is when, as Wales, I took over the kingdom of England and it suddenly got renamed to Lloegyr. I was very confused.

Never heard of it

England, I mean. Pretty sure the game predates it

It should say "here be dragons" on Wales surely?
