Which place names did you add?

All the ones in black by the looks of things

Correct.

Your cartography is fine, it's Ubisoft's that appears lacking.

I'm liking the old English styled place naming in this. Raids look great fun - I always enjoy leading a band of fighters in games rather than being a lone soldier. I'm glad to see the return of the crowd blending too, hopefully there are some fun stealth missions that let you make good use of it.

It doesn't look particularly Assassin's Creed any more, but that's fine because I like the sound of the setup this game has instead.

So on top of that leaked boss fight that looked like it was lifted straight from Senua's Sacrifice, they've also taken the "line up the environment to make the runes" puzzles as well.

Think I'll just wait for the next Hellblade game, thanks.

To be fair, they had something kind of similar in AC: Origins, with the constellation alignments. But yeah, it is a bit close for comfort.

I can't help but think this is going to be in the 'great game but low sales so we've had a rethink of the franchise' category like Syndicate.

I really wish they'd remake the first game. It's aged really badly and a proper open world jaunt around the Holy Land together with making the cities larger could be a lot of fun. They could actually get a middle Eastern voice actor instead of Nolan North too. I've nothing against North and think he's one of the best in the biz; I just felt that his inclusion as Altair's voice was just so Ubisoft could get around the question of how they could sell a game where a 'muslim Assassin goes around killing Christians' in America.

Looks like another new style Assassin's Creed game, and yeah it looks pretty good. Not a lot different from Odyssey but combat and the setting is cool.
I do miss the old style AC games where you actually were an assassin.

Just watched the gameplay, looks like a fun hack n' slash RPG lite but very much Assassin's Creed: Origins 3. I'll wait until it's cheap, maybe.

That’s where I am with it tbh. I bought Origins and Odyssey in sales months after so ill probably do the same with this.*

Ubisoft said on their earnings call yesterday that the PS5 and Xbox Series X version (along with Watch Dogs Legion) will be the same price as their current-gen counterparts. Their games seem to lose £10 pretty rapidly after launch as well.

Have they said if the free upgrade to next gen thing is the same as buying it for next gen? As in, is the PS4 version + upgrade the exact same as the PS5 game?

If so it makes sense to be the same price, why would you spend an extra £10 for an upgrade you get free with the cheaper version?

The way you've phrased this post makes my brain hurt. :dread:

If you buy Valhalla for PS4/Xbox One, pop disc (or digital download) into PS5 and Series X and it will be upgraded free of charge. It's the same price to buy for PS4 and PS5.

Hope that clears things up.

The question is: is the upgrade just a free download of the next-gen version, or is it upgraded from the current gen performance (upscaling or whatever) but not the same as the next gen version.

If it's straight-up you get the next gen version for free, they have no choice but to sell the two versions at the same price

Sounds like we need to consult Joer's watch for the answer

Whats the difference between a 'next gen' version and a current gen performance upscale?

Think PS4 and PS4 Pro, the game is upgraded, sometimes it has more options (60fps mode perhaps) like it's the same as that. :?
