Just unlocked second legion.

This game is bloody good. It's so unique. Like Vanquish with batman with bayonetta with an almost Dreamcast feel.

The best bits so far are wandering around the city and exploring for little bits. Combat is complex but it's taken slowly so not to overwhelm players.

It looks lovely and the world is so well done.

The police hq, the random email rewards, that strawberry floating mascot, the way I chain up enemies and also make a chain line to trip them up. Genius.

It's much slower than bayonetta and a much better game.

A seriously impressive game.

Got to a larger open area. As it's populated and I'm part of the police force if I do things wrong I lose points. That includes hitting bins which gives people a scare and crossing the road when the light is red and not green.

Just finished File 2, this game is really something special. It's got that Platinum signature to it but it also seems to hark back to an earlier generation of games (maybe PS2/GC). Not sure why, maybe the setting is something that was popular a few years back or the way the levels are structured. Anyway, glad I bought it now and just need the overly complex controls to click.

Astral Chain has topped the UK physical games chart.

1500 boxed sales between first place and fourth

1) Astral Chain
2) Wreckfest
3) Man of Medan
4) Control

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2019 ... s-uk-chart

Sounds like its about 10k for Astral Chain.

Here's a question - why am I finding it so difficult to do the ZL + right stick thing to move the Legion? I automatically go for the ZR with the right stick. Must be some kind of muscle memory from another game, maybe FPSes.

Dunno, It took me to file 2 to get on board with the controls. Works better with a pro controller

Yeah, i was really looking forward to playing this game portably, but the busy UI and control layout means, for me at least, its only really suitable for playing on TV with a pro controller.

I'm getting vibes of Headhunter, Phantasy Star Online 2 and jet set radio in the art style. I'm a sucker for upgrades and this game has a lot too so it'll keep me busy for ages.

As a developer they just keep getting better and better. If anyone likes transformers their game was a G1 classic.

I don't think I have ever been able to pick out my luck on cursor mid battle. The combat feels like a bit of a free for all. But I think all my PG experiences have felt this way somewhat. I'm enjoying it though, but the combat feels the weakest part for me. I'm playing on Plat Standard, and it's easy, but not particularly rewarding. I'm getting lots of A and S ranks, but I would struggle to know what grade is going to pop up after each encounter. Anyone else feel this way?
Love the setting and atmosphere.

I only had a quick go on it this morning and it's a blast, certainly a different type of Platinum game and a blooming beautiful looking title on the big screen.
