Astro Bot Rescue Mission on PSVR was one of my personal standout experiences of last gen; it looked fantastic and was a lot of fun to play, with the "in the game" VR feeling being particularly memorable.

I've still yet to put much time into Astro's Playroom on PS5, but I really must! My initial impressions were that it's very good and that it acts as an excellent showcase for the DualSense controller... although, for me, it didn't quite have that "wow" feeling that made the PSVR game so impressive. That's certainly more of a reflection of "PSVR being done well" rather than Playroom being bad, though.

I'm very much up for more Astro and I'd like to see him become PlayStation's mascot :-).

A full budget release would be great, never played it obviously but the pack in game with PS5 got rave reviews.

A lot of my enjoyment of Astro on PS5 was related to the exciting nostalgia hits from finding all the Playstation references littered throughout the levels. That and new console hype.

But I'm very interested to see how this game pans out and I really hope it turns out to be good.

Sackboy was a great platformer and Sony need more games like that.

Astro's Playroom was fun, but I want them to capture the magic of the VR game and cram that into a flat screen (or maybe optional VR) game.

Like Jawa said about Rescue Mission, there was a sense of presence with it because of the way it placed you as a huge character within the game. Playroom was brilliant but much more of a conventional platformer in a lot of ways.

Either way, the Astro Bot IP is ripe for much more development and it will be great to see the first game that's more than perhaps a tech demo for new technology like Rescue Mission was for PSVR and Playroom for DualSense controller.

Can't see it being a VR game - Sony have pretty much abandoned the headset already. Astro Bot was amazing on PSVR 1, but I'm sure they can make a fun and sprawling flat screen alternative.

Agree with this - hopefully the can double down on this somehow. I have been playing Pikmin 4, and some of the most enjoyable moments have been when my Pikmin have dug up an old GBA or GC game disc.

Yeah. Sony can barely support the PS5 right now, I can't see them putting much resource into the PSVR.

I wonder what we can expect this to be, Playroom was a love letter to PlayStation, wonder if they go even further with worlds based on different PlayStation IP?

I don't think they'll do that. They've done the love letter to Playstation thing, it worked well for Playroom as a pack in title. I would hope a full title would now do its' own thing.
