Dasaolu seems to blow hot and cold. Good run in the semi but awful final. You could say the rain affected him but it didn't stop bolt.

Experience will help that, though. When nervous and adrenaline are racing through a sprinter, things like heavy rain can affect a younger runner far more than someone who's going into the race as supreme favourite.

100m sprinting is at least 30% mental, I'd say, and consistency and controlling nerves will only come later on as he develops. I think he has a lot of promise.

He's 25, about to turn 26. He does seem to be a late developer sprinting wise though so hopefully he won't peak for a coupe of years yet.

Bolt is 26, Blake only 23.

Anyways mega congrats to Ohuruogu.

Anyone seen Isinbayeva's comments following her gold the other night :|

Utterly moronic :fp:

400 hurdles went completely to pieces for Shaykes Dreyton. She seemed a great shout for a medal through the qualifying and was looking great but that final was absolutely terrible. Think her time was a good 3 seconds off what she's capable of.

Ha, fair enough, in which case, yes, he should have his head around that gooseberry fool by now. Again, only race practice can really get you to where you need to be. Then again, I used to be far more nervous for a 400m than I ever was for a 100m, as the way I saw it, there was more to go wrong over the 400m, despite the smaller margins for error in the shorter sprint.

Basically, if you can nail the start, then the rest takes care of itself.

Edit: hell of a run from Gemili this morning, though. Should make the final with any luck.

Some decent events on tonight. Michael Johnson had a proper 'WTF' look on his face when listening to Gabby and Paula witter on about Mo Farah.
