Git! I'd rather have had hysteria in there in place of something like starlight.

For some reason they don't play Hysteria much anymore.

Saw Hysteria 3 times out of five this year... I'd say they played it more than enough. Here's some videos I took:

Hysteria + the bells and whistles (I was recording this in case they played something interesting after [JFK] - one of the London nights I didn't get to, got strawberry floating Assassin)

Citizen Erased Glasgow

Map of the Problematique <3 + two riffs Glasgow

Bliss (Extended) Glasgow

The Handler, London (includes the screens, if anyone wants to see them in action)

Wow, you were very close to the stage!

The best part about the in the round setup was being able to walk in 15 minutes before the band and end up in a spot like that!

Great vids :datass:

I've seen hysteria every other time I've seen them, just annoying to have guff like that penultimate track on Drones instead.

They played assassin when we saw them in that tiny venue last year

Their setlists are utter shite at the minute, I'd never have paid as much to see them had I known what I was in for. Though I shouldn't complain at hearing Map and Take a Bow 4 times, I just feel a bit cheated knowing how they usually mix things up a bit more in situations like dual nights at a venue. Plus I think a lot of the staples are getting really boring - Starlight, SMBH, Uprising and Knights in particular. Two of the shows I saw last year (Belfast, Download) missed Starlight and nobody seemed to notice. :shifty:

I don't like Starlight anyway, proper fairweather fan rubbish.

Citizen Erased was strawberry floating great though.

Setlist in Newport last year was mostly cracking though:
Psycho
Futurism (First time in the UK since 2000)
Bliss (w/ Hullabaloons for the first time since 2011)
Interlude
Hysteria (AC/DC's 'Back In Black' riff)
Plug In Baby (Extended outro)
Assassin (Grand Omega Bosses outro )
Stockholm Syndrome ('Micro Cuts' outro)
Agitated
Starlight
Supermassive Black Hole
Uprising (Extended outro)
Knights of Cydonia
Unnatural Selection :dread: :dread: :dread: :dread: :dread: :dread: :dread:
Time Is Running Out
Reapers

That or Exeter gets best gig of the club tour:

Psycho
Muscle Museum
Bliss
Futurism :datass:
Plug In Baby
Interlude
Hysteria
Stockholm Syndrome
Agitated
Starlight
Supermassive Black Hole
Uprising
Reapers
Encore:
Map of the Problematique
Time Is Running Out
Knights of Cydonia

I'd kill for MuMu and Futurism. Being at Belfast I was live tweeting the setlist (now irrelevant in the days of Vine) and they lost their gooseberry fool when I told them Reapers was "Dead Star 2" :slol: I did Manchester and Belfast, so got Dead Star, Uno, Fury (Twice), The Groove, Hyper Music (twice) and a few other nice bragging rights songs - still would have preferred songs that are both bragging rights and personal favourites, though. :shifty:

Live tweeting the setlist? :dread: Oh god you're one of them. Some kid in Bristol was doing that in a gig along with uploading clips, it's like just watch the strawberry floating gig and stop fishing for comments.

Agreed on dat setlist though.

I never really got the opposition to tweeting it, I like the thought that ten seconds of my time can make someone in Argentina really happy (I know I sometimes check set lists as they come in). Plus since I go alone it usually gives me a sense of community to enjoy it with. Same with the whole "people watching the gig through screens" comments you see - my videos are strawberry floating fantastic, shot in 1080p with crystal clear sound, and I love being able to revisit them. Admittedly the vast majority are using potatoes to film and the clips are generally unwatchable but eh, my philosophy comes back to if they enjoy it it's fine by me. Certainly does less harm than moshing etc (people landing in me is never fun) and I don't really complain about that!

Suppose this is as good a time as any to share my setlist. This is from Muse's show at Leicester's Princess Charlotte in (I believe) February 2000. It was the Showbiz tour, supposedly they were an hour late coming on but I don't remember anything apart from it being unbelievably hot.

It has a load of technical info on the back too. :)

I do agree that the setlists have now ventured too far into greatest hits territory, I'd be nice to have a few random oldies pop up as a surprise.

They did that with Cave piano version at o2 a few years back as well a an instrumental for a b side I can't even remember the name of. It seemed to be for those that got tickets for the last night before an extended date which are generally the best dates to go to.

Also Brighton Dome was quite good for that as they had only just started playing Fury and The Groove again (although I got the groove).

Similar thing happened with Citizen Erased.

The reason is the tech and amount of synchronised effects is ridiculous so of course it's all planned.

The song I'm probably most tired of hearing (apart from the amazing opening) is Knights of Cydonia always as an open/close. I think they've played it at every single gig I've ever been to which I think is 5 times now over 10 years.

What's Razor Blades? Don't think I've heard that one!

It's the early name for Screenager from OOS.

Indeed. And it wasn't nearly as instrumental.

Quite enjoyed that bit of fun. Cast it to my telly and felt like watching MTV. Nice to remember the band are doing stuff after I sort of jumped the last tour by going to the psycho mini tour and basically missed the album live wise, which I thought was OK.
