Thank god for that, now I can rant about how self indulgent it is

People filming themselves playing guitar :dread:

Unless you are sitting there reciting an interpretation that's remotely different to the original or hard to find or not well recorded like some instrumental piece, an original or some interesting cover then yeah.

And please don't have an actual famous guitarist replica and the same clothes and hair in a dimly lit room only posting covers from 1 or 2 bands. Such a waste of effort.

Yesterday the Mrs sent me a text saying "check your email..."

She's bought us tickets to see them in Berlin next June :datass:

I've never been to Germany before and we've talked of going for a long weekend, so she got us a nice hotel right by the venue and we're having 4 days there. Hyped!

Oh and I love the drones album now, even enjoying dead inside

That on that sounds like the killers can still float off though.

I didn't know. £73 though, strawberry float that. The Brighton gig was good for me, and that was £40 for a much more intimate venue. Add the girlfriend and how the strawberry float is a couple supposed to find £146 for one gig. Just no. I think this'll be the first album tour I sit out since 2007.

Back home now. That was strawberry floating amazing :datass: Set list was mostly fantastic, I was suitably pissed and lost my voice by the end. The set list:

Psycho
Reapers
Plug In Baby (Extended outro)
Dead Inside
Citizen Erased
The 2nd Law: Isolated System (Shortened)
The Handler
Supermassive Black Hole (The Jimi Hendrix Experience's 'Voodoo Child' intro)
Prelude
Starlight
Munich Jam (Fast ending)
Madness
Map of the Problematique ('Who Knows Who' riff + Rage… more )
[JFK]
Defector
Time Is Running Out (Extended intro)
Uprising (Extended outro)
The Globalist
Drones (Reprise)

Encore:
Take a Bow
Mercy
Knights of Cydonia

Got some photos I'll put up later. Got some video too but I think you'll be able to hear me singing on them so I'll probably not share those :dread:

Some photos:

Those ball things were up in the ceiling and would float down and spin around in formation over the crowd, very clever.

Looks ace ad7. My boss saw them at Manchester a month or so ago and he recorded a couple of songs on his phone. Looked a fantastic gig I must admit.

Today I plan on listening to Drones for the first time. Only bought it off iTunes recently and finally got around to syncing it to my Ipods for car/work listening

Those LED curtains they have are world class. Not many bands push stage tech as far. I'd love to do stuff like that.

I think they were done with double sided projection rather than being LED. Either way it was a great effect.

I think they've owned them for a while now. It's basically a big web of LEDs, that when viewed from a distance form an amazing image. Hard to tell if they were used in those photos, but that would explain why they're semi transparent. Those ones do sort of look like cloth. A while back they were teasing them by saying they had "screens that could blow in the wind". Anyway, it's fun just to be able to pick apart the stage setup.

I went to an exhibition exhibition at Earls Court once, so much cool technology in stage tech. Loads of pyro stuff as well. :datass:

Great shots Ad7, you got a very similar setlist to our Dublin one. :datass:

I thought the lighting and video work for The Handler was particularly clever.

Was that the hand puppet one? Was really well done, the hands looked 3 dimensional, float knows how they did that with a curtain. Some more pics:

As a side note, those were taken on my galaxy s7 and I think they're pretty damn good for flashless shots from a phone in the dark.

Yeah that's the one. The 'strings' followed Matt and Chris around which was a nice touch.

Your setlist was the same as ours at Birmingham, only instead of Defector we got Stockholm Syndrome. 8-)
