One thing I've been meaning to say is that Nebula gets a surprising amount of screen time in this one. I'd assumed she'd be a more background character, but they really made great use of her. It was great to see Karen Gillen getting a chance to really shine as more than just the "angry blue cyborg girl".

Oh man I cried at the build up to the "Avengers, assemble" moment. What the strawberry float? I did not know I was that invested in this stupid thing.

There were so many moments in this that had me welling up.

But I'm not gonna lie, it was Tony's death that pushed me over the edge to actually shedding a few tears.

Which is utterly insane. No movie, TV show or piece of entertainment has ever made me cry. But that hit hard. It hit harder than Han Solo.

RDJ, Tom Holland and Paltrow absolutely sold the gooseberry fool out of that scene. I think it's the combination of 10-years of these movies and characters. Seeing Tony go from this egomaniac, to hero, to mentor and father and then making the sacrifice that Cap implied he could never make. That and as I get older I do find myself reacting a bit more emotionally to things than I used to.

Blew me away.

When the stones came onto the gauntlet in Iron Man's hand and he said "I am Iron Man" I kinda flashed back to the first Avengers movie and Captain America talking to him about laying down on a wire and letting the other guy crawl over you and knew that his arc come completely full circle, and that he was strawberry floated.

It was really well done, too. Not overly drawn out or emotional in and of itself, until Spider-Man and others got involved. That nearly got me, and I don't think I've ever shed a tear at a fictional story. :slol:

I was more emotional at the portals bit tbh, particularly when Black Panther walked out and gave Cap that extended look.

I was like "YEAH!" at the portals bit more than being emotional. I did get a bit emotional when Cap said "Avengers, Assemble!" though.

Would it help you to know that this is apparently an Easter egg; with Spider-Man: Far From Home taken into account, the total runtime of the MCU from phase 1 through phase 3 is 2998 minutes?

Apparently Howard the Duck is in the background of the final battle, holding a weapon.

That makes no sense. Iron Man isn’t even in some of the movies and I doubt that arrogant bastard gives a gooseberry fool about T’Challa fighting Adonis Creed.

That's all kinds of awesome.

Another little touch I noticed is that the Marvel Logo at the start only shows the heroes who survived. Not only that, it still has the "scenes" for missing characters, but they've been removed. So the clip of Wanda coming out the door in Age of Ultron after her pep talk with Barton is there, but she's been wiped from it.

Yep, that exact bit started it then getting everyone coming through in one go made it a proper moment. Nothing else set me off though, especially since I've been ready to see the back of Stark since Age of Ultron.

Thought it was a great sendoff to a messy decade long story but the middle 2012-14 scenes felt a little too self-indulgent.

I could watch the portals scene on a loop for a week and not get tired of it.

Just read that apparently in the scene at Camp LeHigh, Peggy Carter mentions that an Agent Braddock hasn't checked in yet, which is most likely an Easter Egg but given who said it and where the character is from, could also be a set-up to introduce Brian Braddock/Captain Britain and potentially MI 13 into the MCU for Phase IV. I'd mark out, but he'd better not be wearing that ridiculous union jack outfit.

The portals scene was brilliant but it didn't reach the pure strawberry floating euphoria of Thor warping to the battlefield with Groot and Rocket in Infinity War for me. After his arc, that climax is just sublime. One of my top 10 film moments of all time I think.

That said I think the emotion at the end of this hit me more than the end of IW. Don't get me wrong the Spider-Man snap scene in IW thing packed a real punch and I was welling up. But Endgame sustained that for about 20 minutes I think.

Can't wait to watch it again.

The 'I love you 3000' thing was put it because it's what Robert Downey Jr. and his kids say to each other.

Wasn't he mentioned in the first Captain America movie?

Just got out of seeing it for the first time and for the most part I loved it. I'd really, really disliked Infinity War, mainly because of the monster-like villains that always remind me of something from Lord of the Rings. Most of the MCU films I don't like involve that type of enemy.

I'd stayed away from pretty much everything to do with this, so the time-travel elements were a surprise to me, and I have to stay I loved them all. I think they might want to draw a line under this saga and properly move on, but if they did want to use what happened here as a springboard to the next phase, it's almost perfect for the introduction of Kang and then the Fantastic Four.
