The only thing I don't get about that is why they felt it necessary to throw in the "My dad rejects my sexuality and hates me" and what seems to be a borderline forced marriage bits. Merry strawberry floating Christmas I suppose.

The advert would have worked perfectly well without the depressing bits.

Yeah, those bits made no strawberry floating sense. It's a car.

This. How on earth did this get the green light?

In a world gone mad, a woman dressed in Christmas clothing saying she really likes her favourite perfume is in itself a revolutionary act :shifty:

I actually quite like that advert, the digitizer thing on her voice at the end makes me think of GladOS. You don't really need to make a big arthouse movie for Chanel No 5 - it's probably the most famous perfume in the world, so something relatively simple with a hot model works fine because it's already got its niche at the top of the fragrance tree.

It all just sounds a bit like she's doing the fake gratitude thing people do when receiving gooseberry fool gifts.

There's something incredibly unnatural about the way she says it, and the bit at the end with the Chanel logo is just bizarre.

That’s not true though. You can book through a booking site and still pay on arrival at the hotel.

I stand corrected but I thought they would want payment so they can take the commission from it and also so you don’t book places and then just don’t turn up, possibly making the hotel turn away people only for you to be a no show, I have only used hotels.com

Depending on the hotel, hotels.com let you pay on arrival at the hotel. At least that's what I've done in Japan

Pay at hotel is usually more expensive, but also more flexible in that you can cancel until pretty much last minute, whilst pay on the site is cheaper but offers no cancellation options.

Even when I know they're a perfume advert I'm still not entirely sure what they're advertising because of how surreal they are.

I would normally agree but I do love the Jean Paul Gaultier "Scandal" one where he's in it at the end saying that he loves a scandal - it's just so... French

The rest are all gash though.

P.S. - good to have you back on the forum, dude :toot:

Cheers, brah.

Look to the relationship and mental health threads for a clearer picture as to why I'm striding into 2020 in a far healthier state, mentally that is. 8-)

Yes! That's probably where my latent love of JPG comes from, he's brilliant. Plus for his work on The Fifth Element, of course :datass:

And Madonna’s bra. ;)

I couldn’t tell you anything about other fashion designers other than Coco Chanel being a massive Nazi.

The Julia Roberts one with the eiffel tower is alright (with Diamonds as the backing track).

But yeah, the rest are terrible.

I particularly dislike the his and hers Armani ones with the overlapping voiceover at the end (the 'Tron' bikes one is especially terrible)

So was Hugo Boss - he designed uniforms for the SS and joined the Nazi Party before they were in power in Germany. Mentalist.

To be fair, the Nazi’s were stylish as strawberry float. ;)

It’s amazing just how many companies were involved in the horror of Nazi Germany. Even bloody Fanta!

Yeah it's mental. Obviously German companies rarely come out looking too well - Mercedes had a huge picture of the Fuhrer in their main showroom in Berlin for many years, Volkswagen was founded more-or-less on Hitler's command, etc.

It wasn’t even limited to German companies, IBM were happily working with the Nazis.

Thinking about it, the whole “PC Master Race” thing makes much more sense when you know the history of IBM…..
