I've noticed they seem to aim their Special K ads at just women. Don't know why, I love the stuff.

£2k for the bike and then a reocurring £50 a month for membership! Get to strawberry float with that gooseberry fool.

Hold on, am I reading this right? This is an at-home exercise bike that requires a membership?

....Why? Why would anyone do that?

I thought it was quite clear they were saying they don't make cereals for supermarket own brands.

Aside for it being something to brag about, most people want the responsibility of their health place on other people. I won't be responsible for my own diet, I'll get those overpriced food boxes delivered. I can't motivate myself to use the exercise bike k already have, so ill spend a fortune on one because it has someone talking to me on the other end of it, which makes it their fault not mine if I give up on it after a week.

I was more asking 'why does a bike have a membership fee' to which the answer is 'because the bike allows you to attend virtual spin classes' but I'm glad to see you've woken up in as cheery a mood as ever.

Peleton does strike me as overpriced but I'm a firm believer in whatever exercise works for you, embrace it. If you're able to get yourself in running shoes or on an exercise bike every day without motivation, great. If you need to be pushed by someone shouting drills at you in a class, virtual or otherwise, do that.

In my opinion, it's a fantastic product albeit one on the expensive side.

Surely it's about as much an abdication of personal responsibility as any other gym membership?

Can the trainers actually see and hear the people on the bike?

Not on the subscription level I'm on :x

I don't think so, as it's more about engaging directly with the PT. A 'normal' gym membership is required because you can't buy or fit all the equipment you need at home, but most people will still have to plan what they're doing and motivate themselves when they're there.

Yes that's true. I suppose then it's about as much an abdication of personal responsibility as signing up for a spin class or any other form of personal trainer. Both of which have surely been around for decades (at least!) anyway.
