The Asda advert is annoying. It's like they've just picked the most gormless looking and sounding person possible and got them to do the advert. Rubbish.

Loads of really schmaltzy ads doing the rounds at the moment, McCains is probably one of the worst.

The Tesco "there is no naughty list!" Christmas advert. Basically just a list of people saying "I'm gooseberry fool because I did thing X" and Tesco going "ah, don't worry just buy loads of gooseberry fool for Christmas, it's fine!"

"I didn't teach my kids anything during lockdown!"
"It's fine! Just buy a massive turkey!" :fp:

Etoro and other stock broker online platforms.

They aren't bad adverts in a super annoying way but the advertising method doesn't sit right with me.

"Hey you know that new tech stock that just rose in value and you missed out on?! Miss out no more by joining Etoro!"

Individual stock picking is basically middle class gambling (as opposed to passive index funds). It's clearly aimed at the never invested before type of customer who has limited to no knowledge on financial products. And you can use complex higher risk products like CFDs that leverage your position too.

It's basically using FOMO as a way to advertise but it's worse than that because it seems to go against the regulatory slogan of "Past performance is no guarantee of future returns".

And also the crazy amount of gambling adverts on TV that children will see and be normalised to (and probably pester Dad to make a small bet on the game at half time). Some of them like the Giggs advert are actually quite good but gambling shouldn't be treated as a normal product.

Ugh...Idris Elba is annoying enough as it is, let alone when he starts singing at me on the latest advert for whatever shite he's pushing (haven't watched it all the way through, so don't know what it's for) :dread:

Pretty much all of the Christmas adverts are unbearable - all these companies trying to convince us to buy their crap products, with overly sentimental messages and veneers of pretence about how much they care about us. For some reason they always pick the most annoying people to voice or appear in the adverts as well, as if that will do anything but annoy people even more.

If you couldn't tell, I strawberry floating hate this time of year.
