EE, Co-op, Microsoft Teams and Facebook have particularly bad or annoying coronavirus ads at the moment (Kevin Bacon trying to look sincere while saying 'NHS workers, this is all about you' etc).

That Portal advert is annoying mainly because it’s on all the time

Any advert that is showing lockdown strawberry floats me off. I'm living the lockdown I don't need the strawberry floating thing in adds to making it even worse.

It’s annoying how they are using a pandemic to sell their products, while pretending it’s just an advert showing they care or thanking people.

“Thanks kids for not using the swings at the park! Parents, we’ve thanked your kids, now buy Persil!”

The lockdown has caused a plague of incorrect aspect ratios to be shown on TV, that's the biggest crime

There's another advert right now that starts with "In the next advert, pay attention to the actor's gums". It's wrong, they clearly mean to say "In this advert, pay attention to the actor's gums". The next advert would mean one entirely unrelated.

Literally unforgivable

How is everyone in this thread seeing TV adverts still? What are you watching live?

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

On-demand services like All4, My5, UKTV and ITV Hub still show adverts. You'll also see adverts if watching YouTube on a TV.

Yeah on demand, I’m also terrible for forgetting to fast forward on a recording.

I'll count my blessings that I have a Pihole adblocker installed on my home network.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Same here, just get a decent ad block system in place folks and you'll never have to see another shite ad to get annoyed at!

TV

I prefer it to on demand, get more variety in watching things I'd never think of watching, aren't paralysed by choice, and spend much less time browsing through menu screens trying to decide what to watch.

I watch a lot of Netflix too, but that's more a main activity. TV can go on in the background while I'm on my laptop or playing switch.

"Background TV" is something I'll never understand.

I put a podcast on, or sometimes a longer form youtube video if it's the kind of cooking where you can take breaks while you wait for things.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:
