In the Beginning...

On the way home from visiting Arcadia - a dark, damp old museum that documents claimed sightings and first-hand experiences with supernatural beings – the GRcade Travel bus has broken down in a narrow country lane in the middle of a wet and very windy night! Signals are down, nobody can call for help, and it seems unlikely that anyone else will be passing down this tucked away road anytime soon. As the rain hammers down, suddenly, a lightning bolt crashes to the ground in the distance, briefly illuminating an old, but HUGE, building situated opposite across a small field.

“Head to that building!”, a cry is heard. The passengers and crew sprint across the field to seek some help.

As they reach the building, audible gasps are heard. The building itself is in fact an overbearing medieval mansion with a tower at the top; the sign outside says ‘Arvendon Keep’. It has a large thick oak brown door with a circular black metal handle. The driver knocks on the door and then slowly opens the door. The lights are off; however, he is able to locate the light switch next to the door. As the rest of the room comes into view, the group slowly shuffle inside until the door is closed behind them. The room is long and narrow with chequered black and white marble flooring. To the immediate left is a wide vertical staircase with pillars either side and red carpet stretching down from top to bottom. Backing onto the side of the staircase is a long waist-high cabinet with glass doors, stretching down the length of the room. On top of the cabinet are unlit candlesticks and empty ashtrays. Inside the cabinet are bottles of wine.

“Helllooooooooooooo? Anybody home?” No answer.

“Haven’t we seen this place somewhere before?” Another crash of lightning almost deafens the group. Suddenly and without warning, the lights go off. A blood curdling scream is heard!

“TURN THE LIGHTS BACK ON!” a voice yells. Someone can be heard flicking the switch back and forth to no avail!
“The switch, it’s not working!”
“Oh my God, what is happening?!”

Another crash of lightning is heard and as if by magic, the lights come back on. Everyone is silent. But then, like a bad dream, the group make a grim realisation. On the floor in the middle of the room lies what remains of the driver. His clothes have been ripped to shreds and his body is covered in numerous cuts and bites.

“WHO could have done this? WHAT could have done this?”

One tries to open the door but it is locked. The key has disappeared!

“We’re… we’re locked in!”

It slowly dawns on the group that the perpetrators must be in the room. Frightened and unsure who to trust, everyone slowly backs away into their own space staring at one another, acknowledging the futility of their distrust.


Welcome to 'Are You A Supernatural?'


Rules

1. All roles are disseminated randomly; however, I won’t be giving you any confirmation on what abilities are in play and what names those roles may have been cast as.

2. There is no victory in death for anyone.

3. Sharing of your Role PM is strictly prohibited. Nobody but you can be allowed to see your private message which states your role. Neither can you read it out loud over any voice communication service, copy and paste it into the game thread or share your Role PM in any other way you can imagine. Anyone found to have breached this rule will be immediately removed from the game. This is a game about deduction, not seeing what other people's Role PMs say.

4. No print screening of ANY PMs relating to this game whatsoever. You are free to quote PMs from other players (i.e. not messages from me) as they are open to interpretation/manipulation but no screen posting. This rule does not apply to your Role PM which is completely out of bounds in any way imaginable.

5. All players get three votes each day only unless otherwise stated.

6. Some days may see different events happen, that may affect voting procedures, or how players are killed.

7. When you are dead, please stay dead. No death posting. I don’t want to have to punish either side for this but I will if needs must. If someone innocently stumbles into the thread seemingly unaware that they are dead, I will be lenient, but please inform them ASAP. Please also do not reveal anything to other players once you are dead – not even to other dead players – because, as the past has shown, these things have a way of impacting the game. Please just observe the game and wait until the end to ask any questions or give any feedback you may have.


What's Different?

1. This game will not feature a mayor system. The days are to play out as follows:
• Players will be able to nominate up to 3 candidates for the lynch each day by simply posting their choices in the thread. In effect this replaces the Mayoral voting phase. You are permitted to change your votes at any time before the deadline. This voting phase shall end at 2pm each day unless otherwise stated. If nobody receives any votes, 2 players will be drawn at random to face the lynch. Don't let it be you.
• After the votes have been counted, the 2 players with the most votes will be put up for lynch. Players vote for the 1 player they wish to see lynched via PM to me with a deadline of 8pm unless otherwise stated. The nominee in receipt of the most votes will be lynched.

2. Every player must post at least once within every 48 hours. Players that fail to do this will be removed from the game each morning. If you are going away somewhere and may have trouble getting signal or accessing a computer for 5 minutes, please let me know beforehand and I will consider your situation.

There are, aside from the above, a couple of other things that will reveal themselves in due course. :D

I'll be sending out the role PMs shortly. Day 1 will begin tomorrow and we will be kicking the game off with something different.

The Story So Far

Day 1:
An Expedition Team was formed to explore the caves opposite.
Other teams were formed to explore the mansion.
Errkal and Qikz were put up for the lynch.
The Expedition Team found a note. And later, an Amulet.
Qikz was lynched. He was a Human.
Parksey and Kanbei were found dead. Both were Humans.
teh bork and Hanka Claus were found dead. Both were Humans.

Day 2:
FatDaz was removed from the game.
Errkal and Turboman were put up for the lynch.
Turboman was lynched. He was a Human.
Moggy was found dead. He was a Human.
DML and Falsey were found dead. Both were Humans.
Cuttooth was found dead. He was a Vampire!

Day 3:
DayumChris was removed due to inactivity.
LewisD and Captain Kinopio were put up for the lynch.
LewisD was lynched. He was a Vote Rigger!
Karl and Dan were found dead. Karl was a Human. Dan was The Godfather!
Mini E and Luboluke were found dead. Mini E was a Human. Luboluke was The Double Voter!
Songwriter was removed due to inactivity.

Day 4:
mic and Albear were put up for the lynch.
mic was lynched. He was a Human.
slayerx and Corazon de Leon were found dead. slayerx was a Human. Corazon de Leon was a Vigilante!
Preezy and Zartan were found dead. Both were Humans.

Day 5:
PsychicSykes was killed by the electric chair. He was a Werewolf!
Oblomov Boblomov and The Alchemist Penguin were found dead. Oblomov Boblomov was a Lover! Denster died at the same time. He was a Lover too! The Alchemist Penguin was a Vigilante!
Shadow was found dead. He was a Human.

Day 6:
Frank and Nun were put up for the lynch.
Super Dragon 64 was removed due to inactivity. He was a Vampire!
Frank was lynched. He was a Werewolf!
Albear was found dead. He was The Voyeur!

Day 7:
Memento Mori, Captain Kinopio and IronHide were put up for the lynch.
Memento Mori was lynched. He was a Werewolf!
Pancake was found dead. He was a Human.

Day 8:
An Expedition Team was formed to explore The Tower.
The mission was a success!
That's not a growth was found dead. He was a Human.
Captain Kinopio was found dead. He was a Psychic!
Hyperion was shot dead. He was a Human.

Day 9:
Errkal and Cheeky Devlin were put up for the lynch.
Errkal was lynched. He was a Human.
PCCD was found dead. He was a Human.
PaperMacheMario was found dead. He was a Psychic!
Dark Ritual was shot dead. He was a Human.
Met was removed due to inactivity. He was a Human

Day 10:
Satriales and Rhubarb were put up for the lynch.
Satriales was lynched. He was a Human.
Roonmastor was found dead. He was a Human.
Cheeky Devlin was found dead. He was a Human.

Day 11:
Jay Adama was removed due to inactivity. He was a Human
Diabolito and Rightey were put up for the lynch.
Diabolito was lynched. He was a Human.
PuppetBoy was found dead. He was a Human.
YaoiHasLanded was found dead. He was a Human.

Day 12:
Tomous, Edd, Rightey and Dangerblade were put up for the lynch.
It was a tie between Edd and Dangerblade!
Edd was lynched. He was a Human.
Nun was found dead. He was a Human
Pedz was found dead. He was a Werewolf!

Day 13:
Dangerblade was lynched. He was a Vampire!
Rhubarb was found dead. He was a Human.
Rocsteady was found dead. He was a Vampire!

Day 14:
mcjihge2 was found dead. He was a Werewolf!
Kezzer was found dead. He was a Human.

Day 15:
Tomous was lynched. He was a Vampire!

I like the changes to the voting. I don't see it changing the actual voting process too much, but the removal of any mayoral protection is quite significant.

The automatic cull of inactives is also a very welcome change.

Interesting twist on the rules, stops Superfriends groups and immunity cycles. I think I like it but we'll see.

At this point we don't even know the nature of the badduns - nothing about who's out there, or how many of 'them' there are, what the condition is for us to beat them, what their win condition is - there might me multiple groups, or no groups. Who knows? Supernaturals could encompass vampires, werewolves, ghoulies, phantom mods etc.

Yep, I thought this too. If we're lucky, 2 non-human factions will tear each other apart for us!
