I can't speak to Battlefront II as I avoided that like the plague.

But it seems that everytime you start a campaign (Or map, I don't know) the director will draw and play several "Corruption" cards, which can effect the game in a few ways. The examples given were for larger hordes, generating fog, or making ammo scarcer.

Players can then play cards of their own which can confer bonuses and other perks (Increasing ammo capacity, faster healing etc). Part of the final game will be based on building up your deck through challenges and objectives (And here's where you can envision the MT's and Loot Boxes).

So potentially both interesting and horrifically compromised at the same time.

In all seriousness, I'm not liking the amount of XP gooseberry fool and info popping up on screen. Makes it feel like a service type game whereas L4D felt pure of all that.

I have watched some of Shoud's vod on this and it looks so good.

Pretty much the only thing that ever appealed to me about Left 4 Dead was the fact that you could just jump in with friends and play with them. There was no weird Payday bullshit where you haven't "levelled up" or "unlocked" enough to tackle certain missions or utilise certain strategies or whatever.

£50 to £90 (if you want the season pass) for a Left 4 Dead sequel that you also have to grind and/or lootbox in to fully enjoy is very much not to my taste. Definitely passing on this.

All in a Back 4 Blood party can play paid DLC if one person owns it

All in a Back 4 Blood party can play paid DLC as long as one player owns it, developer Turtle Rock has confirmed.

In a blog post, Turtle Rock said if your party leader owns a paid content drop, you will be able to play that content with them. This includes maps, gameplay and campaign.

"No separation. No exclusion. No split," Turtle Rock said.

Addressing the obvious concern that Back 4 Blood's PvP will be pay-to-win because it's selling content drops, Turtle Rock explained that when it comes to PvP specifically, everyone who bought Back 4 Blood can get access to all additional PvP content, even without buying content drops.

So, players who don't buy the content drops can earn new playable characters and Ridden in PvP for free through progression.

Also, all PvP players have access to the same cards at the start of each match, regardless of whether those players have bought content drops or not.

"We hope this answers some of your questions about what we're doing to make sure there is no pay-to-win or community separation," Turtle Rock said.

From what I've played so far, there's nothing this does better than Left 4 Dead. Feels like there's so much unnecessary bloat.
