Steam have been giving away a few games to keep us all indoors, most have been standard indie trash but one which is free until the 7th is actually good. The terribly-named Regions of Ruin is normally the kind of game i'd hate, a 2D pixel art action RPG but I'm quite liking it:

Langrisser I+II (Nintendo Switch) is £27.99 (+£2.49 P&P; £30.48 total) on the NISA Europe web store.

It's niche and probably not going to interest many here, but it's been out less than a month and is hovering at around £40 everywhere else. The deal runs out today. If you're itching for a classic Fire Emblem-like experience, it should satisfy.

Bulletstorm on PC is £2.99 on Humble. Seemed rude not to.

You pay by direct debit, so I assume pretty easily.

I did it for the 1 issue of edge with 2 special editions. Wasn't difficult. I think the trick was you have to wait 60 days or make a certain amount of payments or they'll stop sending the issues. And yes I cancelled the direct debit online with my bank to be sure. Same website.

Ah that was it. You had to wait 60 days or they wouldn't send the special issues, which arrived sometime later.

They might charge you £1 a month or something.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

Very. Had 3 issues for £1 offer via PS Plus and cancelled upon getting the 3rd issue through the site. Re-subbed for the £5 offer though.

Thanks, so no calling them on the phone involved and pleadings not to cancel?

I remember a few years ago they wouldn’t let you cancel online and insisted you write them a letter. And I don’t mean the 1990s, this was in the late 2000s/early 2010s. Wankers.

I’m glad to hear they’ve changed that.

Hang about, gamerforever. You've said in another thread that you reckon football players are parasites for extracting full pay from the billionaire owners of the clubs they play for. How, then, do you square that belief with your approach here? Shouldn't you be looking to pay at least cost price for the company's output, given that the magazine sector, unlike the Premier League, is legitimately struggling right now (even regardless of Coronavirus)? Or is it only the super rich that you extend your corporate sympathies to at this difficult time?

Can you not keep on topic or are you just making this personal? Not sure how wanting to get a better deal has anything to do with views on a football club wanting to cut costs. I guess that view would extend to everyone on here.

I'm only "making this personal" inasmuch as I'm holding you to account for personal opinions you've stated. Given the precarious situation the magazine industry is in, I think it's pretty shoddy that someone who is happy to get into an argument with others on this forum over those poor, hard-done-by Premier League club owners, is also happy to make use of a loophole that clearly disadvantages another business in another sector. I'm genuinely interested in how you square these two clearly conflicting opinions.

I have no issue with anyone wanting to claim this offer, or even wanting to cancel afterwards so it doesn't become a subscription. But I do have an issue with someone so blatantly doing this for an industry that's struggling, whilst simultaneously arguing elsewhere "won't someone please think of the businesses?" in defence of businesses that will be absolutely fine due to their obscene wealth.

Shopto.net have started an Easter sale, it’s not all that great from what I can see but you may find a bargain here.
