I have finished both enjoyed them but don't see any reason you can't play them in whatever order you feel like.

I have both. I felt the second made the first pretty redundant to be honest.

Yeah I thought the second one probably just improves over the original, I may skip the first one then

The second is without doubt the better of the two but I massively enjoyed playing though both stories, so id probably say get 2 and if you finish it and really really need more get 1, but if you finish 2 and feel fed up or fully satisfied then just stop there.

I have both on Switch as I picked them up cheap a year or so ago, just wondering if it’s worth playing both, if I played the second first then it might make the original feel like a step back?

Potentially yes. I have finished both of them twice and even started 2 again on xbox I suppose it depends on your love for this type of game

I think most FIFA players are fully aware the game is worthless after 9-10 months. But for some folks that's 80-100% of all of their gaming time so it's worth it in that regard.
