Looks like Argos were having a fire sale on all their 3ds stuff. Managed to pick up Warioware for £6 and Yokai Watch for £2.50. DQVII was on there at £2.50 but didn't manage to snag one of those, I'd imagine the HotUKDeal scalpers have already got them on ebay.

Nice. I still play my 3DS (no Switch, and tbh, it's a completely different console).

Edit: As usual with Argos, can't actually reserve anything, despite stock being available at the store.

I've picked up Sonic Boom Shattered Cystals and one of the Yokai Watch 2 games.
Went into Argos today to pick up the other Yokai Watch 2 game and the manager wouldn't sell me it, due to the computer says no.

Mario Sports Mix is listed twice one at £5.99 and the other at £30, they had one at £30 so I reserved it and went into store to talk about it and the manger told me the £5.99 version is the digital version, told her it wasn't but ended up giving up. As she told me a guy like me should focus of starting a family instead of complaining about childrens video games not being in stock. Suffice to say I'll be complaining about the service I received.

Some of my games were ready today some are supposed to be ready Saterday, when I went to collect them the till kept telling the guy no, he looked really confused, he asked me if the games were brand new and it was an error or something, the chap kept trying diffrent ways to put them through and in the end I got the games, there was proberbly like 10 minutes of him arguing with the till, putting them through in diffrent ways etc. I will be very intrested to see how your complaint goes. Im 39 with a big mostly white beard so doubt id get the family starting line but that would have peved me off, I think id have replied and said my other half is incapable of having kids thanks for bringing it up (not true but for all she knows if she says that to someone she could be saying it to someone in a position like that).

Should be ok. If they cannot get it to your local store then you cant pick click and collect in the first place. Mine is due on Saturday for collection, though i will probably be collecting on Sunday also. Loved the first 2 games.

Argos is a pain in the butt though , when I was in there I decided to use there terminal and see if there was anystock of anything else on offer, the terminal told me Dragons Quest was in stock there only to then change its mind when I tried to buy/order it.

Exactly the same issue I had with Bravely Second, my local had it then went to reserve it and boom it's not available.
The whole way Argos has handled it is a joke.

I always pay in advance now on Argos instead of just doing reserve in store. It means they hold stuff longer and you've also got that fallback position of having already paid if they argue.

I find the whole concept of people still shopping at Argos baffling.

When there's new sealed games for £2.50 and £3.50 and such that should be a lot more what's baffling about it?

It's because this happens with Argos every time that happens. Their stock levels are not realtime and I'm pretty sure they engineer this with false or grossly estimated/approximate stock levels to get massive surges of traffic to their site, even when there is no stock at all.

It's obviously a gap in their informations systems that's never been resolved. Homebase have the same issue, which eventually got pulled up by Watchdog because people were paying for and collecting items that then turned out not to exist. It's just a colossal waste of people's time and a crap user experience. If the order "cannot go through", then the same information brought about by that process can be used when checking stock availability for items. Otherwise how can the order "not go through"? Answer: it's lying.

This also gives them gooseberry fool loads of inbound links to their website, improving their ranking on Google Search and Google Shopping, with no way for Google to penalise them for listing product that is not available.

It's been talked about online over and over again and Argos aren't the only online retailer doing it either.

Products are semi-regularly listed as out of stock online, but can't say I've ever had any problems with Argos on that front once in the store (and I think I'd remember because like Zavvi they always email me afterwards with a survey where I can have a good complain if I so wish). But then Zavvi has been good to me as well, and when you look at review sites a lot of people seem to have had awful customer service experiences there too.

Unless I have physical voucher cards (a rarity), I do tend to reserve and pay online and then just pick it up quickly in Sainsbury's. This also gives the benefit of cashback via Quidco or being able to use an e-voucher (Argos do dish these out in their emails and on Facebollocks). Sometimes they'll say it's ready to pick up immediately, other times I've got to wait a few hours/a day.

Their lack of price parity however with Sainsbury's does annoy me. It's now not uncommon to purchase products online (GAME, Superdrug, Boots) and delivered to a store for collection and have them be vastly cheaper than if you'd just gone in store on a whim to purchase.

Mine is ready to collect (a day early no less), please be WarioWare Gold and not the Phonetics game......
FWIW, i have always found Argos very helpful. The only time i have ever had an issue is when the mispriced Octopath deal was not honored, and lets face it, its hardly to be expected and i got a £5 voucher as "compensation".

I think Argos are actually one of the few high street stores that remains relevant today, namely because of its ability to provide same day delivery (a thing that Amazon does not in 90% of locations).

I've supposedly got Yoshi's Woolly World, Warioware and Yokai Watch to collect, all for around £20. Quite happy with that.

All the games I looked at were out of stock. Shame.
