The plus system is broken on portal. It just doesn’t open. As the for the customisation, all of the show when I click it, but I can’t actually apply them. Then gun defaults to no attachments straight away.

Stupid question incoming. I got myself a ultimate gamepass for a month and read that this is available but for just 10 hrs for subscribers a week prior to release. I can't actually figure out where I can get it? Am I misunderstanding what I've read? If not, where can I try this on xbox? I can't see it in the game pass section nor in the ms store.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before.

The Xbox game pass is linked to EA play and it uses the EA play beta app. If you try and download any EA game, it will point you there. You need to them make sure the accounts are linked. EA play will recognise the membership through Gamepass. You’ll then get access.

I've not read too much about this, so when I tried portal I was pleasantly surprised to see Battle of the Bulge and El-Alamein included. Was great going back to updated versions of those maps after all these years. I still remember them really well too  . I've no idea if other BF1942 maps will be included in the final game, but it would be great to see more (and not just Wake Island). I always loved the slow pace of BF1942. Seemed a bit more "epic" in a way as the matches could go on for over an hour.

I hate Wake Island. I would like to see a larger version of Zavod tbh, could be a lot of fun.

The recoil in this is really something. What’s worse is all the attachments are behind unlocks that a lot of people have cheesed through zombie portal maps -looks to have been patched now.

So when I go in game, I’m against guys with skill and a load of attachments… struggling.

Got to level 19 and the PP-29 is a better gun with manageable recoil.

I would love to actually be on the US team for once when playing Breakthrough on Breakaway. I have played it 15 times and always been on the Russian team which is gooseberry fool. Oh, and maybe I can actually play on Hourglass without the server crashing before the match starts.

Still a lot of fun, even with the lag and balance issues.

Similarly I've never seen the attacking team take the roof of the tower on Orbital Breakthrough. Even with hovercrafts driving up the walls it seems incredibly hard to capture with an entire team of 64 waiting at the top.

Likewise, I am enjoying it. I've preordered now that I finished the 10 hour EA Play trial.

Breakthrough is a proper cluster strawberry float. It’s fun, and intense. It is the most laggy and buggy game mode though, played some conquest last night and it’s much better.

I played orbital and my team nearly lost last night, 1st time I’ve seen it but somehow the opposition had so many vehicles and air support.

We then played kaleidoscope which is even worse. We got battered off the 1st few bases but they couldn’t take the roof. Hovercrafts driving up, constant hits from helicopters, with anti air out, there were stingers going off constantly.

Typical battlefield. The game needs balancing. Hovercrafts are massively OP, as are the LCMG and PP-29 compared to other weapons. Too much recoil on most weapons. They need to modify the spawn timers for defenders or provide some new ways up, or add in a gunship or something.

I know the 10hour trial is on Gamepass but I really think they should put the entire thing on it to keep numbers up. I mean, I'm sure EA is annoyed AF that Xbox dropped Halo early and thats FTP. This has the bones of being excellent.

Went in to a game, 5 seconds later game finished. Why is there nothing in the back end looking at tickets and time?

Just got a 1.6 GB update this morning.

Update 0.2.1

Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Implemented Server Side upgrades that are targeted at reducing instances of Rubber Banding, often experienced in the later part of a round in All-Out Warfare modes.
Significantly reduced instances of stuttering when playing on Breakaway. If the Silo’s are destroyed, it should no longer reduce performance on the server.
A note that we are continuing to investigate similar occurrences that have been reported to us on other maps.
When looking at allies on your team, their names will now correctly display.
Adjusted the animations for Falck during the End of Round sequence to ensure that she is displayed correctly.
Updated a skin earnable for Boris via Mastery Progression with a new name: Gator.
Ensured that TDM Rounds in Battlefield Portal always start with Random Deploy set as active. We observed that this sometimes wasn’t active when moving from round to round, but have now fixed this.
Applied a set of measures that ensure the correct number of AI spawn in Custom Battlefield Portal modes using the Free for All preset.
PC Only - Enabled Specialist Selection in Hazard Zone via mouse interaction, removing the need to lock in your selection with the Spacebar.
Fixed a rare occurrence in Hazard Zone that would sometimes cause the End of Round flow to not activate correctly, ensuring that the correct amount of bonus XP was awarded.
Repaired an issue found in Hazard Zone that could cause players to be shown on the Map when they were not visible, or spotted.
Provided a fix for Hazard Zone players who were not seeing their Extraction Streaks updating correctly.

Little extra info here.

This is mostly issues that were identified internally before early access (and renaming the skin they accidentally named after Russian terrorists. Oops :shifty:). They have 2 updates planned in the next 30 days, so it sounds like they're on a 2 week release cycle.

Hopefully the rubber banding is better. Had a few games last night that got pretty bad and after rubber banding I ended up stuck in crouch for the remainder of that life. I also had teammates shooting at me a few times so I'm guessing that should be fixed with "When looking at allies on your team, their names will now correctly display."

I'm reading through the Battlefield subreddits and all I can think is how I'd just want a remaster of BF2, 2142 or BC2 but that a vocal minority of the fanbase would probably scream and cry over the 'lack of content'. I think it is looking like Portal is where the best content is going to be when I eventually pick up the game. More remastered maps from other games would be smashing.

In a "not surprising in any way shape or form" turn of events this got absolutely trashed on Steam.

Yeah, having played the trial I won't bother paying for the full version. I'll probably just wait until its on Gamepass as its pretty buggy and probably will be for a while. I kept getting the annoying bug where the crosshair didn't match up with where the bullets were actually landing.
