Battlefield 2042 (XB/PS/PC) - No more content updates & Motive Studio making a BF game.

I have had some fun games so far. No rugrats for the purchase. I may turn off cross play as the console recoil is apparently significantly less than pc which is bollocks.

For anyone interested in trying this out before buying you can get a 10hr trial with an EA Play subscription, which is only £3.99 for a month. I think if you purchase digitally while the sub is active you also get 10% off so will make back the sub fee.

Recoil is pretty bad on the PC and i am getting alot of console players get the jump on me, especially in the base game. Playing field feels more level in 1942.

I am not a fan of the big 2042 maps. Portal is excellent. The issue is i cant seem to change any attachments and the + function does not work. How they released it knowing the attachments in portal is broken, i do not know.

I can't get the game to work on PS5.
I can't get past the press X to play prompt and all I do is get thrown back to the menu after it does a countdown.

It’s impressive but It doesn’t make for exciting play.

I eventually managed to get into a game after getting rid of my external hard drive.

Now it won't let me connect to the server :toot:

Yep, It's so all the noobs can get some practice in before I go online and crush their hopes and dreams.

I've tried to log in about 30 times today and managed to get 1 whole game where I was total shite :lol:

The rest have been the game failing to load, failing to connect or connecting then telling me it can't load some gooseberry fool :fp:

Yeah, I subbed to EA Play for a month to get the 10hr trial and haven't been able to get into a game this evening :lol:

It’s having a bit of moment right now. But I’ve played quite a bit today on PC. The game mode to play is breakthrough. Absolute chaos but good fun.

Breakthrough is a lot of fun and a decent way to level gooseberry fool up. I need to play some more Caspian Boarder and Noshahr Canals on portal.

It’s good. But the lack of attachments and descent sights on weapons is annoying!

I signed up to EA Play to trial it. I quite enjoyed the beta, so I was pretty confident I'd buy it, but the trial hasn't sold me on it yet. Performance seems quite a bit worse than beta was (especially on my ageing PC!). I wasn't expecting a polished game, but I definitely was expecting a bit more than what we've got. In the tutorial game it initially loads up into, the first thing I did was get on the quad bike only to see that my character didn't actually get on before I was driving away. They were running along behind trying to keep up :lol:

Also not sure if it's a result of my struggling PC, but players in the distance are often not animated at all and just sliding around on one foot. Plus there's quite a few networking issues like rubber banding but I'm hoping they will disappear as demand on the servers levels out a bit.

If you right click the gun on the spawn/loadout screen it takes you to the plus system customisation, there's quite a few sights in there for the guns I looked at. You can't actually use the plus system on the BF3 portal mode, but whatever you put in the position closest to the center will be on the gun when you spawn. One thing I haven't figured out is that when there's only 3 sights and they're all already set on the plus system, I can't find a way to swap their positions so ironsights aren't the default.
