Pretty much this. I knew it was going to be jank but so far it's not been as bad as BF4 for me, that beta was so janky it felt like it was going to blow up.

Some other things I am not a fan of.

No consistent way of telling your opponents from comrades as markers seem to disappear at will. No spotting other than passive and on one of the air vehicles and 4th seat of the tank. Some of the vehicle turrets seem to be playing up and it is impossible to hit people as the view is bouncing everywhere.

Yeah, I found the gunner seats were bouncing all over the place. Spotting is terrible and too many flares on the air vehicles. Managed to take a heli down with the recoilless rifle which was fun.

I’ve also got terrible at FPS games, but it’s not for me. I think I’m too old for MP FPS now.

The gunner seat sights are pretty much unplayable as they bounce about so much and being a gunner on a tank was one of my favourite things to do in BF4. I'm keeping my pre-order for the gold edition on PS5 but the game needs work.

Isn't this just every BF launch?

27fps, no thanks :dread:

Even from what I could play it's one of those games that will require a level of commitment I'm not willing to give in order to get any fun out of it. I think I'm more of a Battlefront kind of guy. I'll give the ten hour trial a go to see if there's an improvement in performance but I'm below minimum specs so there won't be!

People have been saying their fps tanks after2 games so have to restart the game.

I should say things I like and not be such a negative Nancy.

Gun play feels very satisfying along with TTK.
I like the Map however I don't think it was a good choice for the Beta.
The guns do feel very different to each other.
Helis are fun (does feel so much easier to fly them which I don't like).

Had a good number of rounds lastnight without crashing to desktop. Took some getting used to coming straight from warzone as the movement felt a little sluggish.

Also once I got my keybinds right for flying it was just business as usual for a SkyGod - untouchable.

Definetly a game that is better with a group where you just fanny about, and make your own fun.

After 4 matches not feeling it so far but my impressions are better than yesterday. Doesn't help that it came shortly after the great Halo test.

I only found out how to get the frame counter up going into the second game but it was stable around 24-27 and I reduced everything to low for the second game. Task Manager was showing CPU (under minimum spec) was 100% utilised and GPU wasn't, so it's clear there's a big old bottleneck there.

I do love that you can change scopes etc on the fly. That's a really good mechanic.

I gave this another go today, with a little tweaking of the settings and maybe a couple of days in, it seemed marginally better. But, not sure whether it’s my lack of skill in older age and a bit of rustiness or something going on with lag, but hit detection seems off.

How do you ping/mark things in game? I pressed every button on the Xbox controller and nothing. You can't even mark a capture point that you're aiming for. It's really difficult to stay close to your team and work together or spawn on them. Even when they're people you know, I dread to think what it's like with random people.

The map they're using for the beta is pretty bad too. It's too open, large and there are no areas where battles are focussed.

there is problems with hit detection I think - typical BF launch with poor netcode.

Funny when a helicopter rubberbands into a building though.

That is the game, everyone is complaining about that as well.

I can ping, maybe, with ‘q’ on PC? Or is that just placing a marker?

There were certain aircraft that I can also tag targets with.

I’ve uninstalled. Got better games to be playing than wasting time on that.

Damn :| hopefully it makes it in. Even battlefront managed to have basic capture/attack a/b/c/d markers

People were really hoping for Commanders to make a come back a few months ago :slol:

Ping is in (RB on Xbox) but I think it doesn’t work on some things.

Not sure what to think of the beta. I'll play some more to see if I feel it.

So far, I'd say Vanguard might be a tiny little better than this one.

I gave this ago today the first couple of games felt like a laggy mess and as others have said poor hit detection. But then this evening with friends and a few setting changes the game felt pretty solid but it has issues still.
The ping works when it wants on PC.
