PlayStation3

Yep and, if you noticed, the little arrow slowly disappears to their last known location...not actually where they are now. I like that. It means you still need to be weary of their position.

I did say '...spawn camping...although with swift movement and lots of grenades you can get out of trouble...'. It's still a little annoying but not as bad as Bad Company.

Slowly improving on this - getting about 3 or 4 kills per match now, any my own deaths in single figures. Still a long way to improve yet.

I'm getting a taste for WWII fps though, and quite fancy a single player game - recommendations for PS3, anyone?

Well that's a rarity, someone actually looking for WW2 FPS's!

I'd avoid them, try Rainbow Six Vegas 2, I'm playing it at the moment and it's awesome.

I thought Coral Sea was pretty naff, too. Planes are only fun on the normal maps and only in small doses!

Coral Sea on the original 1942 was really good. 20 odd planes flying about on each side created some great dogfights.

After all my self debating about whether to get this or not, I've decided against it. The original which I still play looks infinetly better and I just can't justify spending money on the MS points and XBL for 3 maps. Hopefully they will bring out more maps later on, then I may become interested.

That's easy enough. The market is saturated with WWII FPS. Call of Duty series is probably the better of them. Medal of Honour started to get a bit stale. Brothers in Arms is good for squad based warfare.

Playing in a squad of friends turns this game into an 11/10. I really can't emphasise this enough, Don't play alone.

Had some epic games last night with Petrocelli and another friend. Amazingly, I actually came top of my team in the last one! Which, for anyone who's ever seen my FPS "skills", is a bloody miracle. Finally started working out how to use the rifle properly. It's a shame that your tank-busting capabilities are near zero when playing as the rifleman, but I was at last able to sort out my medium distance game.

Thank God you don't get docked points for quitting out of a game, mind. It was a nightmare trying to get all the squad on the same team.

Getting tank kills with the rifle grenades is awesome.
