I think it used ‘All Along the Watchtower’ a lot, which doesn’t really work if they’re the start of human life on Earth.

It doesn’t make sense that Luke Skywalker spoke English either. ;)

Maybe Rey teaches it to the cavemen?

It was kinda gooseberry fool. It's been done to death so often that it's the sci-fi equivalent of finding out it was all a dream

Well yeah it's been done before (the original did a similar thing) and I am not saying it was perfect, but the level of hate it gets is weird.

The original didn't really have a proper ending, but what it did have was nothing like the remake.
In the original they found an inhabited 1980s Earth with a human population descended from the 13th Colony that had forgotten its origins. Their intention was to start increasing the rate of technological advancement on Earth so that the fleet could then make itself known and integrate into their society.

That's basically the opposite of what happened in the remake ending where technology was abandoned altogether and they just settled down as practically cavemen.

The 80's version sounds a lot better imo.

Conceptually it definitely was.
Unfortunately the show suffered from a lot of problems at that point.
Much of the main cast left, the budget was slashed and they decided to aim the show more at children.

Bit of a bump, but just heard that Michael Hogan (Saul Tigh) is in a really bad way. He fell, whacked his head, now he's paralysed down one side. They have a gofundme for him.

Also this scene :datass: :datass: :datass:

Interesting. I'm ashamed to say I never got round to watching this over the years and have started now it's on iPlayer. I'm only on episode 5 on S1 but loving it. However at this rate it may take me a year to complete

What's the latest on the new series. Is it a reboot or some kind of continuation or something?

Still waiting for Bear McReary's soundtracks to go up on Spotify. Feels like I'll be waiting forever. :(

I have the S3 and S4 ones on CD. The second disc of the S4 OST is amazing. Still frequently listen to it.

You really are in for a treat as there are some simply amazing episodes and character development.
Baltar is almost the perfect bad guy and his story takes so many amazing turns he never gets old.

It's the sci-fi show I'd use if I was asked to justify my love of sci-fi as I feel the stories are strong enough and the sci-fi setting isn't overwhelming with technobable.

As far as I know the new show has nothing to do with this and the premise of a journey to a new home from a devastated home system is open enough to have all sorts of interpretations.

The new showrunner has spoke to Ron Moore to get his blessing on what he wants to do with it. He got his blessing, so it could be okay.

The new show should have Patrick Stewart in command.
Maybe they could make the Cylons all look like Nelix so we can see him be killed over and over for 5 series?

The Cylons had a plan!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately this time it was gooseberry fool and they chose to look like this twat!

I'm really jealous, I'd love to watch this again with no idea of what happens.

I have a couple of the CDs as well, possibly the same ones. It's an outstanding soundtrack and the fact that TWD got onto Spotify while BSG was left out in the void is very disheartening.

Did they ever explain where the Cylons had been before the attack on the colonies and how they managed to build such a huge invasion fleet?

I bet there's a Cylon planet out there, and it's a crime that we haven't seen it.
