I just got through the rewatch of this. I still really like the finale. Not even gonna lie.

I liked the finale as well, strawberry float the haters.

I've been listening to the Battlestar Galacticast podcast. Tricia Helfer (number 6) is one of the hosts along with Mark Bernardin (Kevin Smith's mate from Fatman Beyond). It's a decent podcast with just the two of them, but it's great when they have guests.

On series 2 episode 13. This show is fantastic. I still can’t believe I didn’t watch it the first time around. I intended to at the time but just never got to it.

Thank god for paternity leave as I am flying through them now  although I’m expecting that to slow down soon.

That's after the Pegasus arc right? Goddamn, that arc is amazing.

I also need to check out that podcast. I've seen the zoom calls recently with the cast, Tricia Heifer, Katee Sackoff and Kandyse McClure haven't aged at all. It's ridiculous.

Also seen the interview she did with Edward James Olmos, this guy still lives and breathes this role.

Yeah right after the Pegasus stuff. That was brilliant.

My only complaint on the entire series so far is the almost comical use of the word fracking in nearly every scene

One thing the show does well is it actually has a reason for the dark storylines and setting.
It isn't shoehorned in to make it edgy it really is a life or death struggle and people are going to be going mental.

The new Trek shows went all dark when the style of the shows really isn't like that. Even during the war with the Dominion when things were going tit'sup in an epic way the show was about hope overall and just works so much better when focussing on stories and not just blood and combat.

Galactica is a great example of how to do a dark theme and make it somewhat relatable.

Seems like it could be an entirely separate entity from the new show.

I just found out years later that Richard Hatch (Tom Zarek, Apollo in TOS) is actually dead. That completely slipped past me.

Currently on S3 ep 10 of the 00s series. Can any one explain to me why the Pegasus and her raptors were not affected by the EMP or whatever it was the Cylons were using in the original attack that disabled the power to the more advanced fleet? From memory only the Galactica wasn’t affected due to her older technology.

I think this is explained when they find the Pegasus, and it's shown in Razor. Their ship was in a space dock getting work done on it. Their linked computer systems were down. They decoupled from that spacedock in a panic when the cylons attacked and did a blind FTL jump to get out of there. I think they figured it out afterwards that linked computer systems were the issue.

Yep, The newer machines used more advanced computers which had been infected by software put in by six (I think) who had been working with Baltar to build the system wide defence system.
The older craft were all using none networked systems and so were unaffected.

I hope that made sense as it does in my head :shifty: .

Thanks both that does make sense now. I must have missed that it was a virus rather than a signal of some sort.

Also Razer and the plan are not on iPlayer annoyingly. Any ideas where I can watch them?

Razor is, it's in the S4 section. It's split into two parts, which is weird.

The Plan was done after the show had finished. It's not really that great or worthwhile. It's not on iPlayer, but you can get a disc for it.

The Plan doesn't tell you anything you don't already know by that point.

The Cylons wanted to wipe out Humanity? Yeah, I kind of guessed that from them nuking entire planets to gooseberry fool in the pilot episode.
It's about as unexpected as if they did a show about Liverpool FC that had the reveal that they actually wanted to score goals!

Why didn't other teams think of that :shifty: .
