PostBayonetta 1, 2 & 3 Coming To Switch
by HailToTheKingBaby! » Fri Dec 08, 2017 6:35 am

Bayonetta 1&2 collection announced for Switch in February with a brand new Bayonetta 3 coming later.

I cannot wait. Never thought we'd get a Bayonetta 2 so to be getting a 3 now too and being able to play all 3 games on a handheld is pretty amazing.

What a time to be a gamer. Switch seems to be getting to be a better and better investments every day :datass:

Great news, as I just sold my Bayonetta Wii U box set to fund some of my Switch purchases!

Now we just need all the other AAA Wii U games re-released for Switch :)

They've been teasing the port for awhile. I'm guessing 3 is awhile off so makes sense as a stop, especially with Feb release when doesn't look like there will be much else out.

My thinking is all over the place about this.

+ Bayonetta 3!
+ As a Switch exclusive! :o
+ With the previous titles arriving on Switch, too!...
- ...with the cartridge version following Resi Revelations approach of only including the newer game on the cart and making the older game download-only (for USA)... maybe both download-only for Europe?
- I’m not sure how I feel about U titles being ported over to Switch

I’m excited for B3 but will probably only get B1 and B2 if a cartridge version appears.

Eurogamer comments are the usual mix of people who are happy and those whinging because "It's not multi-platform, wah wah wah".

They really don't seem to realise, that for all Bayonetta was a "critical" success, it really didn't do very well on 360 and PS3 and that it's a "niche" franchise (Like most Platinum stuff) that is only continuing because Nintendo stepped in and paid for the development.

I'll be interested to finally play it though. Skipped the original on 360/PS3 and as such I had no interest in the second on the U. Getting both on Switch seems a good place to start I think.

Wish I cared for Bayo like I did Wonderful 101. :(

Still good news and maybe I'll get round to playing them one day.

Matt, you’ve not played Bayonetta nor Fallout 3? *Worse* than jawa.

Cannot wait. Day one. So looking forward to blasting through 1 and 2 in February and 3 whenever it arrives. Switch's library just goes from strength to strength.

I don't think we'll really see many more Wii U ports. Many of the big exclusives have been ported already really now.
There's talk of Xenoblade Chronicles X being ported to Switch (though nothing confirmed) and I wouldn't be surprised if we see a Smash Brothers port (But I think we're more likely to see a brand new Smash Brothers altogether), but besides that I don't think there's really many more big Wii U titles that there'd be any interest in porting.

I think Tropical Freeze has a chance. They ported DKC Returns to the 3DS after all.

Would it be worth having a separate thread for Bayonetta 3?

I don't want to be drawn here every time it's bumped for 1 & 2 news.

Sounds like Bayo is download only in EU with Bayo 2 coming on the cart.....Japan seems to be getting both on carts which sucks.

Hoping for a 2 cart Asian English release

The whole cart thing is annoying. I'm convinced that's why the west isn't getting Dragon Quest Heroes I & II. I'm hoping there'll be some kind of special edition with a limited run of a physical copy of the original, but I'm certainly not holding my breath. I'd happily pay £70-80 for a LE with both on cart(s) and an artbook. :shifty: I'm probably in the minority though.

Ugh, might have to get this. Need to buy a switch.

The special edition for EU only has a d/l code for Bayo as well, I would also happily pay the premium if it got me both games on physical carts.

Wonder what the chances would be that the Japan release will have English audio/text
