I need a new one.

I've had a babyliss i-trim for 6 years. Any recommendations? Not too expensive.

Thanks guys.

I just get my hairdresser to sort it out whenever I get a hair cut. Keep my neckline in check in between and it's all good.

I normally just have stubble mate. So the hairdresser isn't an option. Otherwise id be there every other day.

Yeah they are good, although I think the battery in them is fairly naff.

Also don't let it run out whilst using it! it strawberry floating hurts! But otherwise does the job. You can set it to pretty small increments 0mm, 0,5, 1mm, 1.1, 1.2, 1.5mm, 2mm etc

Normally it's just the range of lengths.

I only need it to trim my sideburns and as short as the stubble can get. I bet the expensive ones are like Bluetooth or summat aren't they? :slol:

I use a Gillette Proglide Styler, they're pretty good considering you can get one for £15 on amazon. The only real downside is that there are only 3 lengths you can trim to (4 if you include no comb), but if you use the shortest comb you get a good stubble length.

Bump!

Lockdown has allowed me to experiment with growing some stubble. I've never had the opportunity to go beyond a day or two's growth, and I always thought I'd end up with a chin looking like a world map or like a child has coloured it in with a blunt crayon.

Turns out that it's looking OK (according to my partner), and so I'm going to stick with it for a while.

I need a stubble trimmer though, and this is quite an old thread - does anyone have any current recommendations for a stubble trimmer? I just want a couple of mm rather than a full beard-type look.

When you read reviews, the same trimmer gets 'absolutely perfect' and 'chews your face off, avoid', so some real advice would be great. It's a whole new world!

I use one of these (can't post the amazon link): 'Philips Series 5000 Beard and Stubble Trimmer/Hair Clipper (0.4 mm - 20 mm) with Self-Sharpening Metal Blades - BT5502/13'.

Remarkably, it's also in-stock at amazon which I was surprised at:

Simple twist mechanism to adjust the length, and two attachments to adust the lenth from (iirc) 0.4-1mm and then 1mm-2mm. Battery life in total is over an hour when used from a full charge. Has a normal UK plug and not one of the annoying bathroom two-prong ones. Also, no pulling whatsoever unlike some I've had in the past.

It's even doing double duties as a hair clipper during lockdown, but my hair isn't long.

Cheers for this, this is the one I was looking at!

I had to check you weren't some kind of amazingly sophisticated bot, given a join date of today and a product recommendation - turns out you're a long term, returning member! Welcome back!

Also, welcome to the no-context thread

Just a very sophisticated bot whose particular specialties are beard trimmer recommendations and bitching about the company I work for in the WFH thread ;)

I hope you get on okay with whichever one you go for. I went through a couple with various niggles before I found this one
