Bolt absolutely walked the 100m final.

I've never seen anyone win a race so comfortably - he still broke the record as well despite slowing down when he knew he'd won!

My dad told me about that, I thought he was seeing things, or something. Surely no-one could slow down at the end of a race and still beat the World Record, right? Then I watched the race. The man's an actual machine!

We're currently third in the overall medals table, which is almost unthinkable. How long do you think we can hold on to that?

We won a gymnastics medal. It's so strange, I feel violated.

I wonder who difficult it will be to get tickets to the opening ceremony in London?

Yeah its so great and so unbelieable.

If we can just proove Phelps (who only won 7 races but got 8 medals) isnt American we can catch em!

Have they always had that electronic touchpad determining the swimming, or is that new? In that 100m butterfly, it really looked like he'd lost.

Sanders didn't qualify for the 400m.

Ohuruogu still looks to be in with a shout for the gold, though.

Cant see her winning Gold like she did at the Worlds. Triple Jump and relays are our best hopes for some gold on the track

The only real competition is Sanya Richards, who is admittedly the favourite, but she'll definitely earn a podium place.

Yeah. Ennis would have had a chance of that Heptathlon for sure

We're third? :o

Pretty good going from the Brits then. Got home from work last night to see Phelps get his 8th gold, crazy stuff.

Yeah but he's still not the greatest Olympian like they say. Sure stats wise maybe but in real terms Carl Lewis and Jesse Owens won tougher events

Plus can anyone honestly say Phelps actually touched first in the 100m fly?

It didn't really look like it, but I guess the other guy didn't hit the sensor pad.

As far as the Phelps being the great Olympian of all time thing goes, they're saying it to try and increase ratings. I'd say either Redgrave or Michael Johnson would be among the athletes I'd consider for best of all time.

I gotta say Im gald he went for it as it meant the finals were on 3am (for American tV) so I could see them as would have missed them if they were on usual time due to work
