Some RATINGS news - Benchmark pulled in 203,700 & a 2.6% share on Monday. It's been pre-empted next week for the Westminster Dog...I mean Royal Ascot. Though I haven't seen this, according to Broadcast Channel 4 have moved Benchmark to 1pm commencing from the 22nd. Not sure if this is permanent.

Moving it to lunchtime in summer...yeah, I'm not getting the mindset.

Last few days the ratings have really struggled, but not sure the 1pm thing is happening - at the moment we are being told the guides are incorrect. We'll wait and see but it'll be disappointing if they do. We were always off next week so that is not a concern. Our ratings were up yesterday though so we can but hope for the best.

The worst and most annoying bit about it is that when people watch the show, they stick with it. The show always has the same or better ratings by the shows end, they just aren't really finding it.

Are Channel 4 actively advertising the show? Though I guess that requires people to actually be watching Channel 4.

Channel 4 aren't that big nowadays, and do struggle against Channel 5 who often overtake their ratings on occasion (letting go of Big Brother was the stupidest thing they ever did). There was a big push at the start, but now its being left largely to fend for itself.

Urgh. The ratings today are beyond awful. I'm genuinely cut up.

I think the concept is really good too.

Perhaps this time of year just isn't a good time to launch a new daytime/early evening show? Obviously for most people 4pm is a horrible time because you're either at work/coming home from work/picking the kids up from school, but that's obviously not why the usual daytime contingent aren't watching.

What is the age demo of those watching TV at around this time? Perhaps Paddy McGuinness doesn't click with them.

So much of what you say is correct, and yet practically all of it is out of our hands, when they launch it etc. Paddy is the perfect host, but it doesn't have a daytime feel.

It really doesn't deserve whats happening to it at the moment though, I can only compare it to whats been in that slot before, and its underperforming anything thats been in that slot previous. Its genuinelly saddening.

I haven't seen it because of the time. If it's a quiz show it'd be good around the early evening 6pm slot, entertainment about 8pm I guess. Only OAPs watch telly at 4 and it doesn't look like the thing for them

:( These shows take time to build an audience, so here's hoping that Channel 4 stick with it or find a better timeslot. What's the current episode order?

30 episodes and 5 celeb specials are in the bag, whether they show them or not is a different matter. Problem is you can't argue with the poor ratings - you just pray they pick up, but they have probably a couple of days to pick up. Its a results industry after all.

Still find it somewhat suprising though, some of the shows that have outperformed the show would seem much worse fits.

Putting the celebrity specials on now during the weekend in the evening slot would help boost the programme's profile.

...which was the plan but now I assume that they are getting cold feet now. Don't really understand why they didnt launch with one like they did 15 to 1.

Caught a bit yesterday during a break from work. I'm not the target audience as I'm not the biggest fan of quiz shows but this seemed pretty inoffensive. I wasn't bored and carried on watching. Decent host. I was also shocked to see the average date was over £100! strawberry float that. My first date with my current gf cost me about £6. 2 drinks for myself.

Sorry about the ratings though. It does seem a strange time for a quiz show of this kind, but again I don't really watch TV so no idea what is actually on at those times. I agree it should be on at a later time. Very strange time slot, especially with Paddy as a host. He's a popular guy from what I gather but not with OAP's.

I think the other issues have been mentioned such as the celebrity show not being used earlier. People seem to like celebrities so it could have helped.

Just have to see what happens. Good luck to your sir! George Burns was right. Show business is a hideous bitch goddess

That's shitty news DML. I've been Sky+ it and it's an enjoyable show. It probably is on at the wrong time of day though.

Well all you can do is make the best show that you can under the conditions. I thinks its a pretty good show, and one I made a real impact on with the money ladder, end game etc. But so many factors come into play. Its a bit like making a paper aeroplane, just because you make it well doesn't mean its going to fly. I think theres a few factors that have worked against it. Whilst Ive been stunned at quite how poor the ratings have become, I know how hard it is to make a hit show. I just think the show deserves better, and the people who do like it really do seem to like it. There just isn't enough of them.

I want a celebrity special to go out at least.

EDIT - Its worth noting all these Sky plusses and Channel 4+1 do get factored in, so its not like you HAVE to watch it live for it to count or anything.

Gutted for you :( I did say it might not be on at the right time, which you thought too. If it was on at 5 or 6 I really think it would have been a hit. Not sure if that's comforting or not.

To be honest if it's doing this badly, I don't think that would have saved it. Just as well there ten more shows in development huh?

It's a shame that everyone complains about how shite daytime TV is, but when something comes along that's genuinely designed to be good and is essentially 'too good' for the timeslot, it isn't successful.
