Fun fact: Callum is a name that's been growing rapidly less popular since the mid 2000s. They'd be much more likely to use a more popular name in that Facebook post such as, say, Adam...

We never had them in school, and if they've doubled the meat content they probably won't taste the same for the people who remember them fondly.

Turkey Drummers, now THAT was a top tier school dinner item. Two Drummers on a bed of chips with an entire sachet of salt over them and cheap ketchup in the corner. When you cut into the fat part of the Drummer and it just glistened with this clear layer of grease :datass:

Lamb Savories were better (for the uninitiated these were like a flat drummer made with 'lamb' and tasted like donner kebab meat), served with mashed potatoes and the most watered down mint sauce known to mankind.

We were also occasionally served something bizarrely called "Chicken Gazza's" (it was the early 90's after all) which were basically breaded chicken burgers that had a faint taste of garlic and MSG.

I remember loving them as a kid, but to be honest the thought of trying them again now knocks me a bit sick.

They're not adverts, they're public service announcements :toot:

Never had them as a kid as I didn't have school dinners (packed lunch all the way :datass: ) and my parents never stretched to branded stuff like this in the food shop. As a result I've always been a bit curious as to what they're actually like!

I suppose there's an upside to these, in that they'll be pretty hard to digest properly, meaning they'll keep a lot of their form. Dumping that out will create a corkscrew motion in your colon, effectively mining your bowel and helping bring the old crap out.

We didn’t have these at my school and only became aware they existed after that Jamie Oliver program/campaign, I am not likely to buy or try them

I never had school dinners, but I know some of my mates used to get things like chicken drumsticks and chips, which is pretty gooseberry fool food to be giving to kids anyway, let alone every single day AND it being lunch, so there's a good chance they'd get something similar at home in the evening. I remember getting bollocked by my mum for selling my sandwiches one day.

I used to get money for school dinner but then sneak out of school to the nearby shops. Ten packs of Space Raiders was all a teenage kid needed for lunch.
