I want to get my cousins some gift vouchers for Christmas. I've got some in the past where you can spend them in quite a few stores, what's the best kind like this; I can't remember what any of them were called and I'd like them not to be restricted to a single place if possible, but giving cash feels weird.

Any ideas?

Cash.

Weird as it is, you can always put it in something nice or creative. I gave my brother cash in a maze, you had to solve the maze then the draw opened to reveal the cash. Which was always visible as the maze was transparent. My grandad got me Homebase vouchers once, I sold them to my mum.

I'm doing the maze thing actually, just want to stick some vouchers in it.

I'm sure I got some in the past that worked in HMV, Top Shop Waterstones and Currys to name a few. Is there still something around that covers a few different type of shops? A bit like National Book Tokens, but for high street retailers instead?

If anyone is interested I've found what I was thinking of, they're called Love2shop. They work in:
* Argos
* Babies 'R' Us
* Beaverbrooks
* Boots
* BHS
* Debenhams
* HMV
* House of Fraser
* JJB Sports
* Marriott Hotels UK
* River Island
* The Alton Towers Resort
* Toys 'R' Us
* Waterstone's
* And Many More...

Was going to suggest Love2shop, you can use them in loads of places.

Just 'earned' £150's worth from my plumbers merchant so my family can expect to be receiving them this year. Lucky buggers. :)

Sometimes vouchers are best. Im reluctant to give people money often as it could go on any old shite like heroin or haribos.

At least if you get them a vocuher then it narrows the options where they can waste it.

I'm planning to gift PlayStation to my son this Christmas. But people are also recommending me Xbox. I'm confused between these two. Please recommend a good video games store to get things on discount rates or on christmas coupons sale. And what latest games should I buy with PlayStation/Xbox?

Don't get One4All or any other of these multi shop gift cards that are essentially prepaid VISAs.

We had some for our wedding and you have to use them instore if you want to use them as part payment for anything-can't use online for anything that costs more than the value of the gift card.

Edit: oh this is an old thread :slol:

Cash - the way things are going half the shops you can use them in will have collapsed within a few weeks. I've never been a fan of vouchers, it's like going "have some money, but I'm going to tell you exactly where you can spend it".
