The unveiling of the PS3. It was all bullshit, but what exciting, mind-blowing bullshit it was. For those 2 hours, this was the greatest thing ever.

I only properly started paying full attention to E3 in 2008, though I had been aware of it for ages. So, I guess my favourite would HAVE to be 2009.

The PS3 announcement one was the most lulzy, for all the wrong reasons.

1997 was a weird one, given Nintendo only had a couple of playable games--Conker was one, I think--so many were critical of that. It didn't matter to me, to be truthful, because there were plenty of trailers of games like Zelda and Banjo to keep proceedings looking really sparkling. That was a gripping time for an N64 fan.

2002 was exciting because of demonstrations of Star Fox Adventures, Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, Mario Party 4 and the REmake--all of which looked stunning! It was the first time I actually got to see the trailers for the games properly, too--as NGC gave away a DVD with therm. There was Miyamoto playing through some of Wind Waker, too--and losing his sword.

2004 felt equally as thrilling, with Paper Mario 2--which I had been dying for--Star Fox: Assault, Resident Evil 4, Mario Party 6, Metroid Prime 2 and that trailer of Zelda, where the landscape looked so free, tranquil and green...and so rich with possibility. The Spirit Temple look-alike also floored me. I ran into school the next day with print outs, throwing them into people's faces.

It's probably a tie between 2002 and 2004, then.

Between 2004 and 2006 for me. That Twilight Princess reveal was brilliant, I remember watching it with a friend at college who is a total LotR freak, and she was jumping for joy. 2006 for the Sony conference  and the Wii being properly unveiled.

2004 Nintendo BY FAR.

It was a great conference anyway, what with the DS, Metroid, Resident Evil, Mario and Starfox - and then THAT Zelda trailer....well that was just ridiculous.

2002 was close though.

E3 2003. The first look at Half Life 2 and Halo 2 was astonishing. I just watched the whole E3 Half Life2 video again on Youtube and I still remember the feeling of being blown away, when I first saw it.

I haven't been this excited after an E3 since...never. It's not just Nintendo (LBP2, RB3+keyboard+pro), but they're a big part of the reason why.

The bad part is, I just know I won't be able to afford all these promising games, not to mention the 3DS and the Rock Band 3 keyboard controller and Pro guitar.
And I've yet to buy Galaxy 2.
