I'd say for the purposes of this question, avoid games where hasn't been enough time for a sequel and also ignore those that had spiritual successors. But you do you, I don't care.

For me, Eternal Darkness is a franchise I really wish Nintendo had kept alive. I'm surprised the sanity meter mechanic hasn't been more copied and I don't know if it was because I was a gullible teenager when the game came out, but it really did continually mess with my head to great effect. Would love to see what a creative development team could do with it on modern systems. It also has the record for the biggest jump scare I've ever had from any form of entertainment (that bloody bathtub bit).

Another franchise for me that I'd love to see on modern systems is Blast Corps. No real reason other than it was stupid, satisfying fun, and an update with a modern looking city to tear apart would be great.

I really wanted a sequel to Jade Empire.
They could have gone with more complex combat controls and deeper into the story and made a pretty interesting series of games from that start but they ditched it.

Mad Max. Nearly five years on from the release of the original game and there has been zero sign of any sequel; it ain't gonna happen. Bloomin' loved the game although I'm also kinda not too disappointed that a sequel hasn't arrived; I'd fear that it would be turned into an online multiplayer shooter with on-going battle passes or whatever. The original stands as a terrific single-player adventure and will always have a place in my heart  .

Voodoo Vince on the original Xbox, which was infinitely better (and underrated) than that Blinx rubbish that had turned up less than a year earlier.

Eternal Darkness... Yes that bath bit shat me up too, amazingly different approach to scares from any game I've ever played.

Space station Silicon Valley... Not a perfect game but such a great idea what could make an amazing game now. That intro man was great. Sheep dog falls for sheep, sheep falls for sheep dog. UFO falls out of sky killing sheep, tiny robot takes over sheep's body, kills sheep dog..... I want a new game damn it!

Plok! .... Naff off I liked it

Black (PS2/XBox) - Really good FPS game, with a cliffhanger ending. Still annoyed we never got a sequel to it.

Both of my picks (Killer7 and Eternal Darkness) have already been taken.

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

Hardwar, that game was excellent and would have really suited a (smaller) Eve online style implementation.

Loved Hardwar, a great game that was sadly overlooked at the time.

Still love the pulpy intro for it:

The three I can think of are:

Elite Beat Agents
Meteos
Okami (no I don't count this shitty DS spin off)

Knights of the Sky (PC/Amiga). Early 90's WW1 flight sim that was way ahead of it's time. I'll wager hardly any of you have heard of it.

Yes
YES
YES

All of these, except I actually enjoyed Okamiden (was no 'proper' Okami 2 though) and you probably need not to count Meteos Wars or that Disney rubbish either.

I have but never actually played it. I did however love reach for the skies a WW2 flight sim on Amiga.

It was great in it's day. It was a typical Microprose masterpiece.

The Amiga port was the best version as it had vastly superior graphics & sound. You can buy the original PC version on Steam for about a fiver and it's a colossal disappointment as it looks so bad.

KOTS actually felt like you were flying over northern France during WW1 due to the realism & physics. Some of my best gaming memories were playing that with my mate.

Too bad my nostalgic memories were arse raped with the Steam PC version.

I know it's getting a reboot, but I'd have loved to find out what happened after the ending of XIII
