ok top 10?

i love the John Carpenter instrumental, the autotune slide on the chorus 'sliiiiiiiiiide'. great trap.

this songs beat would make it amazing, then it changes up. Benny is excellent as usual.

the song and video of quarantine.

it was a toss up between this and Forever Dropping Tears which is arguably a more 'fan' favourite song but this is just undeniably brilliant.

this was an amazing album that just missed out on my top 5. this is an incredibly vulnerable song that i dont think has any equal that i can think of in recent rappers memories. completely unexpected and a reminder to not judge a book by its cover

90s R&B, new jack swing, bit of Ariana Grande? yes please.

a trap version of a country song? first reaction: hilarious. second and 100th listen: this is an amazing song.

beat is almost non-existent, Boldy sounds half asleep, song is impossible to stop listening to (especially in the car).

beat is off-kilter, great quotables from Denzel, and his DMX impression. love it.

excellent intro to this excellent album. love the chorus "1985 michael jordan i travel with a cocaine circus"

I only heard this at work during the first Lockdown when we had actual radio playing over the store's speakers when we was closed to the public and doing click and collect orders was a fav song of mine during that time very catchy beat and hook. I generally don't listen too mainstream radio these days but i found that song good and catchy first time i heard it.

To think, and when I was a lad I was stuck wanking to 'Survivor' by Destiny's Child.

Kids these days dunno they're born.

Yes i do, i prefer the album version over the single though as the latter has a rap interlude which feels out of place.

That was an abomination, WAP should only be referred to when discussing old phones from 2002.

Top, top song of the year for me has to be Wildfires by Sault

Everything else in my top 5 is interchangeable position wise.

Public Enemy - Fight the Power (2020 Remix). This is blistering

Working Men's Club - John Cooper Clarke. Gloriously 80s.

All those Taylor Swift songs picked and the secret, best one being missed off. I'm a sucker for Americana.

Doves - Carousel. Absolutely smoking album by Doves this year and this track just captures everything I love about them.

Here's my contributions...!

Albeit I can barely listen to either now thanks to 6music playing them to literal death.

I can't believe I actually quite like that Cardi B track.

The video may have influenced my opinion though.

I have barely listened to new music this year, but that Dua Lipa track ‘Break my heart’.... slaps? Is that word?

It’s good.

I would have included that one, and more, but i decided to limit myself to just 4 Taylor Swift songs so that my list had some variety.
