I wasn't asking myself. I was saying that Nick was responding to a response to his question, which is that question you quoted me on.

Please stop! This thread is killing me (softly)!

Bethesda not knowing how people are getting into the secret room, and then compounding that by disguising their plea for help as social justice, when they are subverting justice by letting cheaters who help them back into the game!

Why not just fix the problem?

Why have a secret room at all?

Has anything like this ever happened before?!

Developer rooms are a pretty common thing, not just in Bethesda's engine but in a lot of game engines, particularly older ones. It's basically somewhere they can actually test out items without having to implement them into the game proper, that way you can discover any major issues specific to an item earlier on.

There are Developer rooms in Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind I think. WoW has a GM Island that was accidentally opened up to people with one of the expansions.

This is the thread now in a nutshell. It's not even really about the game any more.

You had a thread about the game and you binned in a tantrum. Don’t complain that people want to discuss the gooseberry fool show Bethesda are making of all this.

You dump in this thread and get annoyed by people that don't. Don't complain about people that want to talk about the game and the gooseberry-fool show the Forum is making of all this.

Nick that doesn’t help, Jawa is narked that people are talking about Bethesda screw ups and not the game which i can understand as he like the game, however I see nothing wrong in people doing as they are.

Your post however add nothing and just “poking the bear” so please stop. If you aren’t going to add anything he contributes to discussions about Bethesda screwups or the game itself then don’t post, it doesn’t help and just pisses people off.

Flawless but of Paint work there though.

My comment is more a criticism of the forum.

There are so many great games out right now which deserve people's money and attention but aren't being discussed, most don't even have thread's (possibly due to the fact that this forum's dying).

Yet this pile of gooseberry fool is repeatedly at the top of the forum. It's frustrating that so many great developers are going bust because people would rather buy clearly gooseberry fool games like Fallout 76 and Mass Effect Andromeda because they liked previous installments.

Stop rewarding scummy publishers you idiots.

What a ridiculous post.

On the forum, the existence of this thread does not in any way detract from the existence or activity others, and if it's not a thread than interests you you can easily just not read it. On the contrary, almost any and all activity on a forum is a good thing, as it drives more activity. Suggesting that an active Fallout 76 thread is harming the forum or detracting from other discussion is nonsense.

On the game, it is equally nonsensical to suggest that people buying and playing Fallout 76 are hurting other developers to the point of causing them to go bust. I buy and play plenty of games and am a big proponent of indie titles. My two favourite games of last year were Celeste and Hollow Knight, but I also frequently post here about other less well known games I've enjoyed like Alwa's Awakening, The Banner Saga Trilogy or Yoku's Island Express, just to name a few of the games I've played from the last twelve months.

Stop trying to be an arbiter of taste and stop insulting people for the games they play or like to talk about. If you're frustrated that games aren't getting any attention then do something positive about it and post or create threads about them.

So what if other people like Fallout 76? It’s their money, their time and if they find it a fun game to play then good for them!

I was sorely tempted to buy this but I never really got into any Fallout games so I didn’t bother. That include 3 and 4. It just isn’t my cup of tea.

I’ve started 3 a couple of times but can’t seem to get over the “its old” thing, there is deffo a good game there I just need to push myself to play it.

I quite like the idea of this which is why I am tempted, as I say when it hits game pass.

If you couldn't get into 3 or 4 then 76 would likely do nothing to change your mind

At it's core 76 isn't really that different to Fallout 3, if that game "feels" old then 76 likely will too, so I imagine you'd have the same problem.

I'm not sure if it feels old it's just that it is old, I always find it hard to start a game that has been out for ages that I've never played unless it is a remaster.

If I've played it then it's fine as I have nostalgia but if I've never played it then I just go "old" and it bugs me.

Also control wise 4 pissed me off to the point of quitting after a couple of hours so I imagine that would happen again too

3 remains in my top 10 gaming experiences ever, but I wouldn't go back I don't think. A lot of it is clunky as strawberry float, the whole thing looks horrible with it's unending canvas of brown muddiness, and the main plot is C grade fan-fiction.

Wait a minute! That sounds kinda like another game in the series...a more.......recent entry.....

While graphically very dated, one of the things 76 has actually got a nod of approval for in most reviews I've read is the environmental variety. The visually distinct regions of Appalachia are a huge improvement over the ubiquitous green-tinted mud of Fallout 3 or the orange-tinted sand of New Vegas.

The games on paper should have me hooked. I generally love sci-fi fantasy, nuclear holocast stories, swinging 60s/70s and all that.

But Fallout always end up dumped. I have tried playing it several times but... I always get that “Meh” feeling.

Knowing that, I’ll probably still buy F76 when it’s relatively dirt cheap for the PS4 and put in my games collection. Oh well.

Tangential to the thread at best, but have you ever seen A Boy and His Dog? It's a 70's post-nuclear apocalypse sci-fi in an alternate universe where advanced robotics and animal telepathy were the advances made in place of the space race. It's directly referenced several times in Fallout (not least with Dogmeat in Fallout 3) and is a good film to recommend to anyone who likes the Fallout setting.
