Yeah, it is unlikely, look at the cost of their previous games DLC. Still if it improves the game in a significant way, it's a good thing.

Indeed a, it looks like it adds new stuff to do and features so boo ya!

I’m still hoping it will hit game pass.
I don’t like physical media so I can’t really get it cheap I don’t think.

Just wait a few months until it's FtP.

;)

That roadmap is something, at least. It doesn't seem to be fundamentally altering the game in any sense, being variations on a theme rather than an overhaul, but at least it's all free.

The "free to play" argument is a bit pointless; it's only being spoken about by folk who decry the game... which is cool, but why would they then want to play it, even if it's "free"?

Regardless of speculation on how it came about... it's hard to think of too many recent "AAA" games that have offered such a range of free updates.

I know. It was a joke.

Genuinely excited! The "cryptid" monsters are one of the strongest design elements in the game, scout camps are already scattered about so that should blend nicely, player vending sounds excellent and was one of my biggest wants, and camp decoration should add a whole new layer to a feature I already spend far too much time in!

The existing settlement that is Fasnacht themed was already entertaining, fitting with the theme of automation they put robots in charge of planning the (yearly) festival, who then decided to boost tourism by holding it every day.

I haven't played for some time now; I've been focused on FInal Fantasy XIV but it feels like I could try tackling a second game and I think I may get back into this.

I got Fallout 76 from an Indy store for £15 a week ago, mostly for my 16 year old daughter. I have been watching her play it a fair bit but also had a go at it myself only got to like level 4 so not played long, but its ok.... at £15 for two of us to play a little bit then I am thinking that its ok but I wouldnt be happy if I had paid like £40 for it.

Killed my first Scorchbeast last night. I've had a few encounters with them now - got killed the first time one attacked me and had a particularly troubling (but fun) time when two swooped in together as I was defending the excavator on top of the ash heap (I hid until they left luckily). Then last night just as I was approaching a Red Rocket stop to drop my stuff at the stash and go off, another flew in and attacked. Being next to my stash gave me access to my heavy .50 machine gun I recently stored away there, so I used the 150 ammo I had for that... and then I used over a 1000 more 10mm ammo to kill the damn thing (along with a good couple of dozen shotgun shells). Most of my armour also needed repairing afterwards too.

The rewards were... very underwhelming. It was not worth it at all

I think I abused the AI to make the fight easier than it should have been, as I think the exact place we were in confused it - it never used the screech attack after initially turning up. That meant the fight wasn't even that fun, as it was basically 10 minutes of emptying shots into a bullet sponge.

Still glad I've killed one now, now I can continue to avoid it in the future unless absolutely necessary (or at least when playing multiplayer).

As for the aforementioned excavator in the Ash Heap, the view from the top is quite something:

Did this video ever get posted?

It's a year old now (before the game launched) but it just popped up in my feed and I found it quite interesting how the game came about and the problems the team came across trying to implement multiplayer in Fallout 4.

Built myself a fort:

Pretty happy with it, especially the powered door on the corner of the walls (which felt like a real hack to get together!)
