Yeah you caught me just before I went off to eat. You are definitely way too under-leveled for that area of the map so I wouldn't worry :P

Hey, Orange, I meant to say - your camp build was ace! The layout and different zones give a feel of being a base more than a house!

How are you able to place so many decorative things around your camp? IIRC you have objects like cups and ornaments on your furnishings and I didn't think that could be done?

Thanks! It's exactly what I was going for :D

The underground part was preexisting and you're probably remembering that, I only built on top. In my parts I find a few camp items really useful for layering on that decoration to make things more realistic, namely: Radios, lanterns, succulents, the punch bowl, the cooler stash box, and other small stash boxes (tool box, crate, footlocker). But yes we're still waiting on proper decoration placing!

Ah! The overall effect was terrific :-) .

I know it's on the way... it'll be cool to place objects that you've discovered during excursions!

I expanded my camp last night... I now have two water purifiers running :-) .

Another player had a camp near to mine; he was a high-level guy (level 91 versus my 13) and his camp was ace. I gave him some purified water and he gave me a grand piano! :o . He actually placed it in my camp (it wasn't in a little dropped bag as when I drop things) and I don't know how he did that.

I guess he had some special gear because he could jump super-high, too.

1) Multiple water purifiers won't produce water any quicker, instead at each tick one is chosen at random to deposit the generated water into. However, multiple purifiers will give you more storage space, so you will effectively get more water as rather than a limit of 2 before you need to collect, the limit will be 4, or whatever.

2) If you party up with someone, you can both build in each others camps, using your own resources.

3) The Marsupial mutation grants a high-jump, I have it also as it is super useful - especially for camp building (it is often level breaking too, but I choose not to do that). Once you have a mutation you need the starched genes perk to lock it in so that radaway won't cure it. Mutations can be acquired randomly from radiation damage, but there is also a late game method of acquiring ones you want. You can also get a jetpack for power armour which allows for similarly high jumping.

Oh! I see... well, I guess it's still nice to have the increased collection.

I never knew this! I wouldn't want a party member to change stuff in my camp... I guess it's worth keeping an eye on players you're not too familiar with!

It did look both cool and handy :o .

Thanks, dude... with your knowledge of the game, I now think of you as Orange 76   .

And yes it's part of the reason I don't team up with randoms, even if I've never seen it happen and think the risk is probably quite low given how generally friendly the community is. My friend has definitely trolled me before when we've played together though, putting up cardboard cutouts of vault boy everywhere! Thinking about it I think that teammates are only limited to placing new things and moving those in a camp, not editing anything placed by the owner, so it's not too bad.

Can't believe I've only just figured this out (or at least I can't remember if anyone has mentioned it before).

You get the ability to make mods for things from scrapping stuff you've built that don't have any mods on them.

For example, build a load of low level leather left leg armour pieces, then scrap them all and you'll get (from some of them) mods you can now build for that type of armour.

Ah! I think I've received a couple of mods this way and I'd wondered why!

Meanwhile, patch 11 has just been released and contains a raft of updates and additions.

The Atom Shop has also had a refresh... you can now obtain a greenhouse, white picket fence and various plants :o .

Well it happened, for the first time they've added stuff to the store that I really want but can't afford :(

Locking the green house building behind a limited time bundle as a bonus item is scummy, and as much as I want it I'm not spending real money on (notso)microtransactions when I already bought the game full price. So that's annoying.

I'm on the final quest main story quest now, which is launching a nuke, but I don't think I'll be attempting it for a while because of the whole prolonged but limited time window aspect of the quest. It's clearly designed for parties rather than a single player, which is a bit dumb considering the rest of the main questline hasn't been.

I do now (finally) have the in-game camera though, so my next objective is trying to clear enough of the scout challenges to get promoted and earn the backpack. We'll see how that goes!

While I'm in a complaining mood, the latest patch didn't fix a really frustrating bug where the quick select wheel often freezes the game up for 10 seconds :x

Nice one! Once they're available, I'd love to pay a visit to Camp Orange sometime to check them out :-) .

If we can group up, I need to revive an ally while they are downed in water to earn my scouts badge... if at all possible?

I've just managed to complete the 'I Am Become Death' quest and launch a Nuke.

Although its obviously geared around team play I don't think it'd be too hard to do with a decently spec'd character on your own.

This is what I have left to do, my plan is to collect a load of shotgun ammo beforehand so I don't run out mid-quest and waste all the effort. Robots give me the most trouble in the game so I'm kind of worried about that - but then I only learned recently that you should target the legs on assaultrons, for example. So maybe I've been fighting them wrong!

Make sure you've got plenty of healing items. Personally for dealing damage I like the bigger guns like the .50 cal or the Gatling Plasma. Obviously ammo is a concern too.
