Yeah, there's still a significant amount of time between where we are and the start of BB.

Incredible episode, as always

That was an incredible episode. Satisfying in a similar way to watching someone set up a domino track for hours and then finally setting it off without a hitch. Predictable, but very satisfying!

I kind of feel like we could get a season pre BB timeline. With maybe Jesse and Walter in the last episode.

Agreed! Not that I'm an expert in storytelling, but this felt like a masterclass in executing tension in a prequel series. It's not often that a prequel pulls off something so satisfying when you know who can and can't die.

I do understand Lex's point about not needing to tie everything together all of the time and would usually agree. But I guess if you're going to do it, this is how you do it in a way that is completely narratively justified and feels earned, rather than the usual pointing at something and going "See it?! This is that thing you know from the other thing!!"

The acting in that episode was brilliant, the whole thing was so tense I loved it. The way I see it
we've seen Kim's character go through the motions of towing the line, to becoming almost Jimmy like, and Jimmy being noticing this and being concerned about it, to the episodes we've just seen where I think she'll either leave Jimmy and relocate somewhere as a result, or be killed in some way. Thay have to explain her absence and have to explain why she or Jimmy never connect in Breaking Bad I think. I expect the next few episodes to see the Police/legal net getting tighter around both of them until she cracks.

But remember the early episodes of Saul where we see Saul after the end of Breaking Bad? (I'm right aren't I? In the bun place?) It's possible I suppose we could get another one of these later on, and a happy ending if she surives meeting again?

I think Kim is going to have an issue with her vacuum cleaner at some point soon...

I think it's got to be Kim that is being referred to in the season 4 flash forward where we see BB era Saul clearing out his office and telling the receptionist that she needs to take a phone call at a certain date and time - that this is some agreed contact point between Jimmy and Kim

Masterpiece! I thought it was even better than last weeks.

Jimmy now fully embracing the Saul image, paying for prostitutes etc in denial about his feelings and miserable - after being so in love with Kim :(
The scene with Mike and Nacho's dad was perfectly understated - which it made more of a gut punch.

I have no idea how far that jumped forward, but I'm assuming we are right at the start of Breaking Bad? It'll be interesting how they weave together BB stories in the remaining episodes. I'm hoping they spend a fair bit of time on post BB stuff as well.

Cracking episode. This show

Going to wait until the weather has cooled down so I can watch this in comfort. Good things shouldn't be rushed

It's better in the heat, it actually feels like you're in the Albuquerque desert. ;)

There's episode stills on IMDB that answer one of your questions.

That was the first episode in all of Better Call Saul that almost felt rushed.

Brilliant stuff. If there's a show that knows how to do a montage better than BB/BCS then I sure as hell don't know what it is!

Saul's license plate had NOV 05 on it - I don't know how these work in the US, is that when it was issued or something? Might help in terms of where we are in the timeline

Scene between Mike and Nacho's dad was brilliant, especially how it echoed elements of Mike's situation with his own son. "He fell in with bad people, but he was never like them"

In that a lot (too much?) happened? Did you love it though? I thought it was one of the best episodes of televisions ever. Like in Breaking Bad the third from last episode 'ozymandias' was really the end - this episode felt like the emotional climax.

- I like that Hector would have spent ages dictating that message than opted for 'the chicken man' rather than 'Gus' :D

- Obviously Jimmy's full transistion to Saul was an emotional gut punch. I've wanted to actually see the BB Saul, I wondered was the Saul persona in BB going to be revealed to be a complete act, I wondered if there was a moment, where Jimmy was lost and he fully embraced Saul then they gave it us the full Anakin to Darth Vader moment. It was hard to watch him going from being so in love with Kim to heart broken.
Makes the Gene timeline sadder, at least with Saul he could fully throw himself in the role and deny his feelings - Being Gene he has of time to be miserable.

- I hope we don't see or hear of Kim next episode. I don't want that to be her final appearance, but it would be more effective if Saul lived his life and didn't speak of her, with Kim's presence hanging over us for an episode

- I wonder if that was Gus's last scene? Poignant and understated if it was. That was Gus at his most unguarded and authentic. He basically invited the guy back to try that wine, but took his response as a full rejection, then after finishing his wine and having a little moment to himself, realised he was too in love with Max and too filled with desire for revenge - he alone and this is his life now

- The scene with Mike and Nacho dad was great. It all hits you when innocent people (like Casper with the 'He [Werner]was worth 50 of you')

- They normally do 10 episodes per season - next week is this season 10th episode! I wonder if they'll wrap up the pre-breaking bad stuff next episode than the final 3 episodes will be in the Gene timeline? I hope not to be honest!
