Great acting by the Kim woman, I started getting an argumentative adrenaline rush at the end of her rant. Howard is such a dick.

Took me a while to realise what was going on at The interview. I'm guessing it's a bit of guilt coming in at just how readily people fall for his patter, but also how he likes to play the victim but in reality could talk his way to being successful.

Michael McKean was a hell of an actor on this show, but strawberry float me, everyone else is rising to the challenge to fill that hole.

I don't know who was more brutal this episode, Kim or Gus

Essential watching as always.

Many fantastic scenes as has already been mentioned, the Kim and Howard scene in particular. What really elevates it is that for all her fantastic bravery in standing by Jimmy through challenging and confronting Howard, we as the audience know that Kim is ultimately backing a tragically doomed horse.

What a show this is!

Spent that whole scene feeling incredibly sorry for Howard actually. His judgement was questionable but everything he's done has been in the spirit of reconciliation and sympathy. Kim too was in the right however, as she believes Jimmy's mood swings to be him feeling with/covering up various emotions.

I'm thinking that as long as he knows he could have gotten the job he's happy. He enjoys the chase.

There is no better written show on TV. Incredible stuff.

What was incredible about that scene (other than the acting!) was that they are both right. Howard was doing what he had to, but Kim was right that it was all incredibly cruel to do that to somebody that had just lost their brother. Neither were wrong, neither were right.

Of course we know that Jimmy is a rogue, but Kim and Howard don’t know the extent of his roguishness. Howard is following the rules, Kim is appealing for humanity.

It’s great to see things with shades of grey rather than just black and white and this show constantly does that to us.

S4E3

Gale!! Did not see that one coming one bit, was a lovely surprise! I didn't actually realise until afterwards that it was Ira from Vamonos Pest they brought back in the same episode, helping Jimmy with his scam. I think Kim was expecting a bigger reaction from Jimmy and was disappointed when he didn't give it. What she doesn't know was Chuck's last words to Jimmy - Jimmy knows the letter is BS

I hope that little Hummels storyline proves to be significant, otherwise that is the closest to filler that we've come with the storyline.

Also, from the high of last week's acting from Kim, I thought her crying at the end of this weeks' episode was very dodgy.

I didn't think it was filler, more showing his path to being a crim-inal lawyer.

What happened to Nacho in Breaking Bad? Assume he was killed at one stage?

I would be very surprised if Nacho was alive in the BB timeline. Personally I’m expecting him to die this season. in fact, Gus’s ‘job’ to Mike at the end of this episode could be to kill Nacho

Think he's still around when Jimmy/Saul meets Walter and Jesse, he mentions an Ignacio when they kidnap him

No chat about this or last week's episode...I found last week a bit slow, but this week was a lot better

Its alright, some good moments but nothing amazing. Some nice back story although do we really need to see The lab being built?

Half off topic, but we started rewatching breaking bad and we can't stop, it's so strawberry floating good. Almost up to the end of series 3 already It has made the lines between the two shows blur though, to the point where I'm not sure which story line is in which at times, particularly as it's just got the the start of the los pollos stuff in BB.

I was half expecting Mike to shank him there and then as an example to the others!

I'm really enjoying the building the lab stuff I hadn't really considered that aspect of things when watching BB so it has brought a new angle to the proceeedings.

It adds a whole load of weight and context to when Mike berates Walter in S5 about throwing away everything:

We had a good thing, you stupid son of a bitch! We had Fring. We had a lab. We had everything we needed, and it all ran like clockwork. You could've shut your mouth, cooked and made as much money as you ever needed. It was perfect. But, no, you just had to blow it up. You and your pride and your ego! You just had to be the man. If you'd done your job, known your place, we'd all be fine right now.

Seeing the effort that Fring, Mike et al. have put in to setting this up makes it even more tragic when Walter strawberry floats it all up for no good reason other than, as Mike says, his ego.

Yeah I agree with all of that. The great thing about BCS is seeing how the characters from BB became those characters, not in a “here’s how Han got his jacket!” way, but in a slow burning story that gradually turns decent(ish) people into the criminals we know and love.

Building the lab is far more interesting than it should be, precisely because we know how all that effort is going to be wasted by a pissed off school teacher.

Why is it unnecessary? BCS is telling the story of what happened before Walter White became involved, it is obviously going to show how Hector ended up in a wheelchair, how Mike started working for Gus, how Jimmy became Saul etc.

The lab is just another story along the path to Heisenberg.

Hopefully we get to see some sloppy German workmanship that leaves an entry point for flies to get in.

My favourite thing in the latest episode was Howard telling Jimmy to strawberry float off. Terrible lawyer, great salesman.
