It might not be the best, but it’s in the top 1.

Mad tension as expected. Even when it's not safe to expect anything.

Jimmy & Kim's conversations RE setting up Howard did feel a little heavy handed script wise, if they are to follow through on it. Felt like setting up plot for the sake of keeping Howard's actor in the show.

The heart of the show is arguably now Nacho.

As others have mentioned, the fact Saul thinks that Nacho and Lalo are alive upon his introduction in BB lent me to realising that Lalo would either get away or foil the murder plot, after Jimmy outright is working on the assumption they're both dead meat.

Great episode, tense as hell (apart from The inevitable escaping of the assassination team).

Kim's plan for Howard seems a bit uncalled for really.. Also realised:

Saul Goodman = 'sall good man (we know this already)
Kim Goodman = Came Goodman (is that a bit of a stretch?)

No we wait for a year for the next series :dread:

Fantastic season and it’s gutting that there’s now a long wait for more episodes.

Superb finale to a great season.

Loved the Lalo and Nacho scene. I genuinely had no idea which of them was going to make it out of the episode alive and so the the tension was unbearable. Good going for a prequel!

Probably two what with corona. Then AMC will split the final season into two parts.

Fantastic season. I liked the last episode, it was great but I think the episodes leading up to it were stronger and for me it wasn't quite as good as the season 4 finale.

I'd actually quite like that (like they did with the final season of breaking bad).

I remember when breaking bad finished I was legit bummed out and I'm a bit depressed now that this season of bcs has ended - so I would be up for breaking up the season up to keep it going a bit longer. I'm also guessing that as next season is 13 episodes long, were going to get the usual 10 episodes than the last 3 will either be gene episodes or a time jump or something else which distinguishes it from the first 10. So a gap between the first 10 and last 3 episodes might be nice.

What? that episode was the season finale?

Honestly didn't feel like it, bit of a slow episode I thought.

Yep a fantastic end to the season but I do agree that the episodes leading up to the end ever so slightly overshadowed the actual finale.

Wasn't necessarily that worried about either Nacho or Lalo as we're still years away from BB and Saul's introduction there makes it seems like both of them are either still around or only recently out of the picture. That said they still handled the tension well in the episode. If he wasn't already Lalo is going to be massively suspicious of Nacho now.

Starting to wonder how much Kim has been playing her cards close to her chest now, she's always had a dark streak to her but she seems to be pushing things further and further into dodgy territory now.

Season 5 Ep 3: Holy gooseberry fool  Kim got eviscerated by that old boy  :( Save your soul, Kim! Save your soul.

Good to see Nacho getting more story time. A shame his dad saw right through his plan.

I thought the final episode was fantastic. Yes, if might have the ‘big moments’ that Wexler v Goodman, Bagman and Bad Choice Road had, but it was still consistently great throughout. I saw this survey on the Reddit sub for this show so I thought I would fill it out here:

Seasons ranked: 5 > 4 = 3 > 2 > 1 (and season 1 was still a great season)
Season 5 rating: 9/10
Season 5 best episode: Wexler v Goodman
Season 5 best actor/actress: Rhea Seehorn. Much as I love Lalo and the charm Tony Dalton has put into the character, Rhea has absolutely killed it as Kim this season

S5E6: That's just too, too unbelievable, that Kim would ask Saul that after he did that to her and she says she can't trust him! No idea where ep 7 will go, but if Kim isn't playing him then... WTF?!

Finally caught up with this and wow, it just seems to so effortlessly keep up an amazing standard of quality (although in reality I can't imagine how incredibly hard everyone must work to be able to achieve such all-round brilliance).

I was a very tiny bit irritated by the 'main character armour' that saw Lalo escape the 'elite' assassination squad, all of whom turned out to in fact be entirely useless.

Overall just stunning and I can't wait for the final series, although I think I might genuinely cry if/when Kim meets a grisly end.

On that spoiler: I do think it's plausible to a certain extent that Lalo survives - he's clearly no stranger to risky situations and won't have got to where he is now without having to fight for his own survival on occasion. But I do agree that it was stretching things. I can't believe that Fring would be involved in hiring people as incompetent as this lot turned out to be!
