Game is now playable on Xbox via Ubisoft+

Possibly will be officially announced and released at The Game Awards next week, could be earlier though seeing as it's leaked already

Clearly meant to be a big Game Awards reveal. Their PR people will be spitting.

Glad I got to find out about this without the intervention of Geoff Keighley, thanks leakers/ubisoft.

I'm so tired of reminding people that BGE wasn't really very good.

So very tired.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

I distinctly remember this bombing at launch along with Prince of Persia, because Ubisoft made the dubious decision to make them both temporarily exclusive to the PlayStation 2 for Christmas 2003. This was during a period where players wanted very safe and predictable (sequels, licenses), mainly from EA (who had two The Sims games out on console in the same year!).

Then stop because you're wrong :capnscotty:

It's a great game. However I also have access to the original and the HD remaster so this Anniversary Edition isn't hugely exciting. No doubt it'll sell poorly partly because of that yet they'll use it as a reason to officially cancel the (probably already cancelled) sequel.

6/10. And that’s being very generous.

Guys the main theme alone makes it worth more than 7/10.

(Probably. Would be keen to replay this to see if the actual game holds up! But I remember good things about illuminated mushrooms and driving across water tinged with sunset and Pokémon snap-ing funky creatures and a decent roll move)

It has always sold poorly. That's how I picked it up on GameCube for £25 a couple of weeks after release.

All those years ago.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

It would have made a good animated TV series. I always suspected that was what they really wanted to make.

I think quite a few failed pitches to TV/Film producers have ended up as video games. Certainly in the 90s when gaming was less mainstream and looked down upon by other creative industries.

When I worked at Pysgnosis in the early 90s, none of the artists wanted to be there. They all dreamed of working for Industrial Light and Magic.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Acht. This is one of those games I spent a good stretch of time really wanting to play. Then somebody did a retrospective talking about awful mandatory stealth sections. Stealth in non-stealth games is one of my biggest gaming bugbears and that basically killed any interest I had in the game. And then they announce a rerelease! Timing's all wrong here.

Also obviously it's a UbiSoft title which means there's the sex abuse culture behind it. Still trying to stick to that.
