Why can't they register with coinbase?

I have no idea, I don't understand all this crypo stuff. Something about it needing ID and it wasn't accepting the ID he supplied?

Sounds dodge, if it were legit they could just context support.

Are there any Coinbase alternatives I could suggest to him?
Yep.

Binance.com is another.
As for coinbase my friend had an issue with being approved and not being able to get through to support he tried for over 3 months and got no where.

I use crypto.com. I think it’s pretty good and seems to get coins in quicker than coin base.
There are loads of alternatives though...if you or your friend did use Crypto.com I also have this lovely referral linky here.

well this didn't go to plan, I was hoping to buy around £1.02 and it only dipped to £1.14 so still haven't bought back in
Guess I might wait for the next week or two, see what happens.

Everything is tanking again.
ETH is now below what I bought it for in April.

I'm always hesitant to buy at a dip incase it dips further but now might be a great tim to buy

Where? I had a buy order on overnight that would have been filled if it went close to £1.02 - and coinbase history doesn't show it hitting that too.

Ah, was worried that Coinbase wasn't getting the best prices, good to know.
I bought on the dip, but not a low as I was hoping, or that it went. Got a bit worried it might start going up and bought at around £1.03, but it's not a massive difference to my intended buy price. I now have 25% more coins that I did last week, so not too bad (comparatively - still a massive gable buying into this at all)

Yes sometimes they can differ by quite a bit and you get people buying from one exchange and selling at another.
My friend reckons MATIC aka Polygon will reach 1.45 by Sunday. Yeah it is a bit like gambling but at least you know if you HODL then you will likely gain more in the long term.
